    Dell computers
I was at a different school. Our computer lab had Dell computers. We were scheduled to use it once a week. Most of the work was drill.
  • Dells in the classroom

    Dells in the classroom
We were still using Dell computers, but now I have 6 computers in my classroom. Students use the computers as a reading center daily and a math center weekly. They used Study Island program.
  • IPads

    IPads
We were given 4 Ipads per classroom. They were the first generation. It was used for drill and word processing.
  • Smart Board

    Smart Board
Yippee!! We got Smart Boards in each classroom. The kids and I are enjoying the interactive lessons and reviews.
  • New School- IPODS

    New School- IPODS
In 2012, I moved up to teach middle school science rather than elementary school. There are 2 computer labs, but are very difficult to get signed up to use them. We had a rolling cart of Ipods that I would check out.
  • Notebooks

    Notebooks
Science department was lucky. We were given a cart of Dell Notebooks that the 3 of us would share. We used it mainly for virtual labs.
  • Ipad cart

    Ipad cart
An Ipad cart was added to science classes. Now, the 3 science teachers had either the laptop cart or Ipad cart that we shared to do activities.
  • 1 to 1 Ipads

    1 to 1 Ipads
Our school went 1 to 1 Ipads. Most students check out an Ipad for the school year for $25. Students that don't have one can use the old laptops which we put 7 in each classroom. I also started taking classes on using Canvas in the classroom
  • Canvas (2016-current)

    Canvas (2016-current)
Last school year, I took classes on blended learning. The science curriculum changes, and there are no textbooks published that follow Nevada's science curriculum. Our science team works through the summer to create units (modules) on Canvas. My class is blended. I am enjoying being able to work with students more rather than being the center of attention.

    2018?
I am hoping to have my technology certification so I can teach computers and robotics in the classroom.
