Me

  • Smart

    Smart
I had always been smart for as long as I can remember, and it had taken impact when I got pushed forward a grade because I was ahead of the others. I had skipped a grade and was still ahead of the others, and I used my knowledge and thirst for information to my advantage and soaked up as much information as possible.
  • Moving

    Moving
Our family has had many instances of moving, and the last one we had has been the most time we've spent in one place. We had moved in Christmas Eve, and both me and my sister were so excited for Christmas morning, we skipped unpacking and immediately went to bed so we could get our gifts.
  • Being saved

    Being saved
I had my share of ups and downs throughout my life, and one of the highest points for me was coming to my church's youth group Excel for the first time, where I became saved. The experience was different from any I've known before, and while I didn't know the people there, I was glad I had found a community where I belonged
  • Knowledgeable

    Knowledgeable
When I became saved, I had a seed planted in my mind about what I was supposed to become. I hadn't put this into effect until later in life, but I had become knowledgeable and was able to use that information as needed
  • Open minded

    Open minded
Throughout 2016, I had made many realizations on who I was and what I could do, and I see now what a large impact things can make when I let them impact me. When I'm being stubborn, I don't accept other ideas, but when I'm open minded, I can change and see what I need to change.
  • Taking Church Seriously

    Taking Church Seriously
Prior to this, I had been going to church for about 2 years, and after this event, I had realized that I wasn't serious about my faith, and after the church's annual event "Spring Break Away," I realized that I need to refine my faith, so I began working on self growth and becoming a better person and a greater child of God.
  • Wisdom

    Wisdom
Using my knowledge on what being saved was supposed to be, I built upon myself and had transformed into someone kind and loving. With this, I learned to love everyone, how to overcome my fears, and how to be wise.
  • 15th Birthday

    15th Birthday
While my birthday isn't too exciting by itself, what made this so impactful was being able to enjoy it with some of my closest friends, whom I was able to bond with, hang out with, and helped me realize that I was accepted by the people I was close with. During that day, I was able to bond deeply with my friends and become closer than ever with them.
  • Momentum 2017

    Momentum 2017
During this event, I was not only able to bond with my friends, but I was able to publicly share my testimony with my church, and let them see what my past was like and why I decided to follow Jesus.
  • Vulnerable

    Vulnerable
During my experience at Momentum 2017, I had allowed myself to be more open and vulnerable with other people. I was able to share my life experiences with the people closest to me and let them know what I've been through. After that, I had become more open about myself and what I've been through.
  • Teaching Taekwondo

    Teaching Taekwondo
I had been a student in tae kwon do for about 8 years, and my instructor had finally allowed me to begin teaching. Every Tuesday and Wednesday, I walk in wearing uniform and teach students how to be disciplined, teach them how to fight, and help them build their bodies stronger.
  • Strict

    Strict
After becoming a teacher, I learned that being kind, while it is important, you have to be forceful and strict so that students understand that they need to listen, and I have been doing my best to follow that same philosophy and not give my teachers a difficult time, which has helped me build myself better and more responsible.
  • Spring Breakaway 2018

    Spring Breakaway 2018
I spend a good amount of my free time at church, and during one of our trips, "Spring Break Away", I had finally found people that were at the same level as me, giving me the opportunity to find someone to grow with, which had always been a problem because my friends were always older than me because I was more mature than kids my age, and finding people at the same level as me was riveting.
  • Forgiving

    Forgiving
Over the years, I've tried my hardest to become as forgiving as possible, and while I may not agree with someone, I try my hardest to be nice and forgive them when they wrong me.
  • The Landing

    The Landing
Over this most recent summer, I had started my first job, working as a chef almost everyday for 1 month straight. Some cousins had decided that they could use some help over the summer, and they said they would be glad to have me help them. I had made about 1500$ and was extremely glad I was able to make such a huge impact, much to the point where I was requested to return to help again for a second month.
  • Hardworking

    Hardworking
While I had been working, I became hardworking. I realized that my productivity will effect other people in the real world, so I had forced myself to work harder so I won't disappoint. I had worked as a float, so I made sure I made myself useful every moment I got, running out to freezers, restocking on condiments, and helping around the restaurant.
  • My Father Moving

    My Father Moving
When I was a child, my parents got divorced, and while my father was going to wait for me and my sister to go to college, he decided to move earlier than that, and with him gone, many of our belongs from his house came to our mother's house, and with that, our rooms became overflowed with new belongs, creating extra work for us to handle.
  • Momentum 2018

    Momentum 2018
During this trip, I had experienced so much. I was able to open up to people, share my testimony, teach others, and come closer to God. Before this trip, I had raised 1000$, so I had become a part of a group of people that had done the same, and I had also become a part of Youth Ministry Heros, a group of students that had been a huge part in providing for the church, setting up, and overall helping. Being a part of both of these and having my accomplishments recognized was very reassuring.
  • Leading

    Leading
During my most recent trip, I had made the decision to start leading. I see myself with potential, and have been making the most of every opportunity. I realize now that I can still grow and become better, but in areas that I have reached a good point in, I can share with others and teach them what I know.
  • Calm

    Calm
I had learned in 2017 that regardless of what happens, I should always do my best to remain calm, and how large of in impact that can be made when I relax. I become aware and can see things in a deeper manner and learn instead of being stressed.
