  • My Dad Reading to Me

    My Dad Reading to Me
When I was a little girl my dad always read me The Magic Treehouse books. I'm pretty sure I still have all the books.
  • Reading Hatchet

    Reading Hatchet
In the third grade our accelerated reading teacher had us read Hatchet by Gary Paulsen and I really remember that book because it was the first "big" book that we read. We had to discuss it and what the author meant and it was my first group like that.
  • Reading Rules

    Reading Rules
In the fourth grade I had to read the book Rules for an academic team meet and it was a really good book to read at that age about autism.
  • Writing In Ms. Mort's

    Writing In Ms. Mort's
I had Ms. Mort's writing class where we learned creative writing skills. The thing I remember most about it was the final story I wrote was so gruesome Sammy had to leave the room when she read it as an example the next semester.
  • Conservation Writing Contest

    Conservation Writing Contest
In the eighth grade, my science teacher, Ms. Ballman, made us all write an essay for a grade and we could enter it in the contest if we wanted to so I did.
  • Watching Romeo and Juliet

    Watching Romeo and Juliet
In Mrs. Reinhardt's class we read The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet and then watched the movie with Leonardo DiCaprio. It was pretty great.
  • Watching a Georgetown College Women's Soccer Game

Watching a Georgetown College Women's Soccer Game
Last season, my entire team traveled to Georgetown to watch a women's soccer game and it was a good experience to learn more about collegiate level soccer.
  • Fahrenheit 451

    Fahrenheit 451
In Ms. Jackson's class last year we all read Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury and I didn't like it very much because I had to read it for school purposes but it was crazy to imagine that things could be like that in the future.
  • FBLA Speaking Contest

    FBLA Speaking Contest
I went to MSU with FBLA and competed with Christa on creating our own business and then promoting it to our "potential customers". It was my first speech I ever gave in public and was quite rough.
  • FFA Speaking Contest

    FFA Speaking Contest
I went to MSU and gave a speech on small animal impromptu. I had to wear official dress and was very uncomfortable but did a pretty good job for it to be my first speech in FFA.
