Literacy Timeline - Madison Cruse

  • When I is 2

    When I is 2
When I was 2, I was obsessed over a book called “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”, according to my mom. But, I don’t remember me liking that book but apparently I would go nuts over that book.
  • Drawling

    Drawling
I was around 4 when I actually drew my first picture. I remember me drawling my family at a ocean. My mom and dad was so proud so hung it up on the refrigerator. To be honest I believe they still have it.
  • Friendship

    Friendship
I made my best friend in Kindergarten. We became friends about after the first week of school. Her name is Grace Griffith. We are friends to this day. I honestly couldn't live without her. We hang out and talk so much its unreal. I believe she talks more than me, but she would probably tell you otherwise.
  • Learning how to read in Kindergarten

Learning how to read in Kindergarten
Back in 2008-2009, I had Mrs, Blevins as my teacher. We learned how to read sight words and learned how to read actually sentences and numbers. I have to admit I'm bad English and spelling when it comes to certain things, but I was thrilled.
  • Listening

    Listening
I have had surgery on both of my ears because back in elementary school I couldn't hear very well. I would always yell out “huh”, “what?”, “what did you say?”, and everyone was getting tired of it. But now since I’ve had that surgery I can hear pretty good, but sometimes I beg to differ.
  • First Chapter Book

    First Chapter Book
I read my first chapter book in 2nd grade, I remember that to this day. I was sitting in Mrs.Cornett and I read one of the Junie B. Jones. I'm not sure which book it was but I was really happy.
  • Reading to my little brother

    Reading to my little brother
My mom had my youngest brother in 2012 and I remember loving to read books with him. He would climb in bed and say "Madison book!" he would always demand me to read to him even to this day.
  • Chicago

    Chicago
I went to Chicago back in 7th grade and had a speaker on the bus with us to tell us about everything that we passed. I’m going to admit, she was annoying and loud but I had a lot of fun on the trip. We slept in a museum, and got to go up in big towers, I would recommend it to anyone.
  • Washington DC

    Washington DC
I went Washington D.C, which was a lot of fun! We went to so many different places that told us about each thing that happened in the past. We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights. One night we stayed in Virginia. And you can guess where we stay the other 2 nights, Washington D.C. but I learned a lot about our past and how everything started and ended
  • Break

    Break
I love break! Break is my favorite part of the day. I head to break right after World Civilization, which I’m not a fan of so of course I’m looking forward for break everyday. I like to talk about what I’m going to do that weekend like football games or basketball games, or talk about boys(I know, that’s pretty cheesy), or even talk about school work, depends on the day.
