  • Where the Sidewalk Ends

    Where the Sidewalk Ends
When I was in the first grade my mother and I started reading Where the Sidewalk ends together to help me comprehend bigger words through poetry.
  • My Hero Writing

    My Hero Writing
In the second grade, we had to write a paper called My Hero, and I wrote about my dad because he built a swing set for me in my backyard.
  • Observe and Write

    Observe and Write
In seventh grade my reading teacher had our class walk around the school and write down a story about the things we saw.
  • Wonder

    Wonder
In eighth grade I read the book Wonder and I'm going to be honest, it was the only book I have ever read from front to back. I've never been a big reader, but once I read that book I started to read more often.
  • The Outsiders

    The Outsiders
Mrs. Reinhardt had us read a book called The Outsiders for an enrichment class. After we were finished reading it we had to reenact the trial for Johnny Cade (Ponyboy). When I went up for my testimony, I didn't say what I was supposed to say because I don't do good with speaking in front of people and having them stare at me the whole time.
  • North American Championship Rodeo

    North American Championship Rodeo
Mr. Hammons took part of his agriculture class to the Rodeo in Louisville last November, which was a very fun thing to do. While we waited to watch the main event, we walked around and looked at all of the winning artwork that people had made. Some where very detailed and had descriptions so I decided to read a few of them.
  • FFA Officer Practice

    FFA Officer Practice
At the beginning of the year in ag class, we had to practice the FFA officer roles. I was the reporter for the first time we did it and I was so nervous, but after I practiced a few times I finally got it memorized.
  • Upward Bound, Jenny Wiley Show

    Upward Bound, Jenny Wiley Show
In Upward Bound this summer the admin staff decided it was a good idea to take the students to a Jenny Wiley show. They preformed the play called footloose and it was very interesting, and entertaining. At the end of the play all of the actors and actresses came out to the exit and said hello to us which was fun.
  • Upward Bound, Ashfall Author Skype Call

Upward Bound, Ashfall Author Skype Call
When I was at Upward Bound this summer, I had Mr. Johnson for my English 101A class and we read the book Ashfall. Mr. Johnson told us that at the end of the program we would have a chance to speak with the author through skype, and we had to write down some questions to ask him. Well, I knew I wouldn't ask something because I don't really do well with talking to someone I don't know.
  • Kings Island

    Kings Island
When I went to Kings Island this summer with my new friends in the Upward Bound program, I would get bored while we were in line waiting fir the rides so I would get the map out and start reading random things on it.
