My Life Through Football

  • Football Life

I started playing football for the town of Southeast when I was in sixth grade. I started out with being the new kid. But with the hard work I put in, I became starting right defensive end within a few weeks. My mom would always tell me to try my best and do my best. Little did I know, my mom told me after the season people were telling my mom I wouldn't play because they didn't know who I was. I showed them wrong and became a two way starter.
  • Football Life Part 2.

After two seasons of playing with my coaches and my teammates, one of my teammates was hurt playing a game. He broke his wrist. The next practice my coaches asked me if I was willing to play his position at safety. I said yeah ill give it a shot. From that moment on I became the starting safety. They new my speed and athleticism so they started calling blitzes left and right. With me of course. It was a big transition but I was willing to make it work so I put all m effort into it.
  • Jv Football

I was entering my sophomore year of high school, playing jv football for Coach Allen. The first game went okay, nothing to say about it. The second game. That is when it happened. In that game I managed to snap my left collar bone into three places, dreaming me out of football for the rest of the season. It was very painful knowing I needed surgery for it. But the most painful memory I endorsed was not being able to play at all until next season if I was lucky.

    The Comeback On Varsity

The first day of practice was one of the biggest moments in my football life. I came back from a collar bone surgery that took me out last season. I tied my cleats, locked my pads in and strapped up my helmet. What a rush. It was my time to show that I wasn't going to back down because of the year before. The first game came and I was out in at safety. I ended the game with 3 tackles. Throughout the season I got more and more playing time. I ended up leading the safety group in tackles with 27.

    Senior Year

It is my senior year and i´m the starting safety on the varsity football team. This is only because I didn't allow myself to give up on playing football because I got hurt while playing. My hard work got me to become the starter. Coach Honey talks to me about the scheme and what could work and what doesn't work. I feel valued on this team. It's a rough season I still feel I belong there to do what I can to get the team in better shape. Though I'm not a captain I feel its in my responsibility
