My Mom, Dad, sister, and grandparents began reading stories to me -
Laura begins pre-school
Listening to book being read, sentences and directions from teachers and friends. -
Kindergarten begins
Learning words, phonics, and sounds of all different words. -
Successfully read first book
By the end of kindergarten I was able to read short stories with small sentences alone. -
Elementary school
1st-4th grade reading excels from reading words to reading and understanding. -
Reading comprehension
During this time I was learning to understand and be tested on what I had read. -
Middle School
Longer readings were assigned and Wordly Wise was introduced. Weekly test to broaden our vocabulary. -
High School
During this time I was exposed to lost of different reading and also critical thinking. -
College
Reading in college was a lot of reading comprehension, after taking a year off of school, it was difficult to get in the groove of reading comprehension again. -
Reading outside of college
This entails all of the outside reading done not in school or about school related topics.
