The French Revolution was all about people overthrew the monarchy and took control of the government. It started all because of didn't arguments like the higher class didn't have to pay no taxes and owned land. A religion could have had a cause to it because they disliked the Enlightenment. -
Declaration of the rights of men published
This event was one of the most important papers of the French Revolution because this paper explained a list of rights, such as freedom of an religion, freedom of speech, and freedom of assembly of powers. This had to be passed by the French National Assembly. It happened to have natural right for everyone. This wanted all males to have equal before law. All males had natural rights ( liberty, property, security) -
Tennis Court Oath
The Third Estate had decided to break from the Estate general and draw up their own constitution. They did this because they had to pay taxes. So because of that the third estate set up this oath to help them cause they kept losing and they thought It would help them. Because the third estate was the only one paying taxes it held to bad harvests and high price of foods. They had started to call themselves National Assembly. -
Storming of the Bastille
it was a state prison and it was attacked by and angry and aggressive mob. Bastille is a symbol of authority and abuse and was a prison for the people that made the King angry. This happened to represent the monarchy. The people of Paris were the one involved in this Riot. This happened because of the defining of the moment in the Revolution that followed. -
Napoleon becomes Emperor
When the war broke out Napoleon was serving in the artillery officer in the French army. He was a successful general. He was elected to become the Emperor. He had made the rights that peasants allowed land and that jobs are based on talent, he also controlled prices and that equals better fed people. The Napoleon code was the Enlightenment ideas of the government. He helped France, but now it hurts. -
Napoleon fails to conquer Russia
He fails to conquer Russia for serve reason, ,faulty logistics, poor discipline, disease and even the the weather effected it. When they thought they were ready to conquer Russia , Russia army slipped away from the engagement and continued to retreat. The Russia's response was Scorched earth policy. Only 20,000 troops had made it back.
