    This partition planned to separate British Mandate into two states. However, it was not successfully established. But it did lay out borders.
  • First Arab-Palestinain War

    First Arab-Palestinain War
    The Arab-Palestinian War of 1948 broke out when five Arab nations invaded territory in former Palestinian mandate. Arabs launched an air attack on Tel Aviv on May 14th.
  • The Palestinian Liberation Organization forms

    The Palestinian Liberation Organization forms
    It was founded by the Arab League and Egypt, but Egypt initially controlled it. Yasir Arafat was the chairman of it. They call it the PLO.
  • The 6 Day War

    The 6 Day War
    Israel destroys Egyptian Air Force on the ground. Then they conquered the West Bank from Jordan. UN resolution 242 called for Israeli withdraw, establishment of peace.
  • The October War

    Egypt could not accept Israeli occupation of the Sinai. Two years later they surprise attacked them. Israeli ended up winning the war at the end of it.
  • Lebanon Invasion

    Lebanon Invasion
    With Egypt a treaty partner and Syria and Jordan quiet, Israel turned attention to the Palestinian guerrillas. Yassar Arafat and his troops were forced to depart for Tunisia. The operation went wrong for Israel.

    In the 20 years since the war of 1967, the Palestinian population in the West Bank and Gaza had not reconciled itself to Israeli rule. The intifada was a reminder to Israelis of what their prime minister David Ben Gurion had said in 1938: "A people which fights against the usurpation of its land will not tire so easily."

    Yitzaak Rabin was assassinated after a rally on November 4th, 1995. He was the Israeli prime minister. He was assassinated by Zionist extremists.

    In Israel they call this war, The Second Lebanon War, because there has been two Lebanon Wars. It was a 34-day military conflict in Lebanon. Both sides claimed victory at the end of the war.

    This conflict is known as Operation Protective Edge, and sometimes referred to as The Gaza War. It was a military operation launched by Israel.
