    The firts spinning mill was important to the Industrial revolution because the factory system brought many workers and machines together under one roof. People left their family farms to live in the cities to take jobs in factories. They would work for wages on a set schedule. The way of life changed for many people. ***This invention being applied now because there are a lot of factories that make items such as clothing today and it started from the first spinning mill.

    ***The cotton gin is applied today in modern society because, most clothes today are made of cotton. And the cotton gin helped lead cottton to being mass produced, because it made making textile out of cotton easier. We still probably use a machine similar to the cotton gin today too.

    This invention was important during the Industrial Revolution because with interchangeable parts, people were able to fix items much easier, the main focus back then being guns. Interchangeable parts sped up production, made repairs easy, and allowed the use of less-skilled workers.***This invention is applied today because a lot of the items we use on a daily basis uses interchangeable parts, such as our phones, watches, pens and pencils, and more.

    The telegraph was important during the Industrial Revolution because the telegraph made it easier for people to communicate between cities. It took only seconds to communicate with someone in another city. Telegraph lines spanned the country by 1861, bringing people closer as a nation.

    ***The lightweight plow is being applied to our modern society because we use plows simmilar to the lightweight plow today. A lot of farmers use plows (or tractors) to prepare the ground to plant crops, which the lightweight plow was used for too back around the 1840's.
