  • John Kay

    John Kay
Invented the Flying Shuttle, 1733. Allowed a weaver to weave much wider fabrics. Advantage was, it was able to be mechanized and a Disadvantage was it very hard for newcomers.. Used in bigger machines increasing mass production.
  • James Watt

    James Watt
Invented the Watt Steam Engine, 1763. It pumped water from mines all over country. Advantage was it can be located anywhere and a Disadvantage was it was huge and heavy. This was eventually built into a slimmer and more productive model making locomotives very beneficial.
  • James Hargreaves

    James Hargreaves
Invented the Spinning Jenny, 1764. Allowed the operator to spin eight threads at once.Greatest advantage of the Spinning Jenny was it could spin multiple threads at once, one Disadvantage was it was used by hand making it tiring for some.. Were eventually mechanized using water and other things to increase production.
  • Richard Arkwright

    Richard Arkwright
Invented the Water Frame ad Spinning Frame, 1767. Advantage was, Helped produce cotton faster and one Disadvantage was, it was not as fine of a yarn than the Spinning Jenny. Water frame used water to work the Spinning Jenny. Eventually automated into powerful machines which work much better, but based off of his design.
  • Samuel Crompton

    Samuel Crompton
Invented the Spinning Mule, 1779. The Spinning Mule was a hybrid of the Water Frame and Spinning Jenny. Advantage was it combined the advantages of the Water Frame and the Spinning Jenny, a Disadvantage was, it had low yarn strength.
  • Richard Trevithick

    Richard Trevithick
Invented the Steam Locomotive, 1803. Helped transport goods or persons. Advantage was it helped production, Disadvantage increased pollution. Turned out to become train transporting more persons and goods, faster.
  • George Stephenson

    George Stephenson
Co invented (improved) the Steam locomotive, 1804. Railway locomotive that usually moved something. Advantage was it increased transportation, but a Disadvantage was it used non renewable materials which made those materials like coal a little more scarce. The Steam Locomotive became a train which transports people or supplies from one place to another, but unbelievably quick.
  • Robert Fulton

    Robert Fulton
Invented the steamboat, 1807. The steamboat carried supplies through water much faster than before. Advantage was it allowed people to go upstream and downstream, a Disadvantage was it could accumulate too much pressure and explode. Turned out to improve to be better and faster, but basically the same thing.
  • Henry Bessemer

    Henry Bessemer
Developed the first process of manufacturing steel inexpensively, 1856. It helped build many things improving building structures mainly around the US, but other places too. Advantage it was much stronger than iron and more profitable, one Disadvantage steel was very susceptible to environmental risks. It helped build Skyscrapers, Bridges, etc.
  • Louis Pasteur

    Louis Pasteur
Invented pasteurization, 1864. This is a process that kills harmful bacteria by heating milk to a specific temp for a certain period of time. It helped killed bacteria, but also wasted milk.. and time. This is used today in the very same way.
  • Thomas Edison

    Thomas Edison
Invented the Light Bulb, 1879. Light Bulb was mainly used to add lighting to dark spaces, but also used in other things, like directing traffic. A disadvantage and a advantage is that it pretty expensive, but they provide light for many spaces. Today basically it's everywhere. It's used everywhere not just for light but for many other purposes.
  • Nikola Tesla

    Nikola Tesla
Nikola Tesla created AC, Alternating Current, 1888. This current was similar to DC, but it was so much better than it. It was cheaper, but at high voltages, it can be extremely dangerous to use. But, today, like the light bulb it's used in every thing.
