  • Powhatan Confederacy

    Powhatan Confederacy
    This 12 year conflict lead to many dead colonists and Indians, but despite the deaths, this was a win for the colonists.
  • Pequot War

    Pequot War
    This war occurred after the death of a colonists, which lead to the death of 600-700 natives. The natives that weren't killed were sold into slavery in Bermuda.
  • King Philip's War

    King Philip's War
    King Philip tried to move the settlers in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. This lead to a large number of deaths including King Philip.
  • Pueblo Revolt

    Pueblo Revolt
    This took place in Arizona and New Mexico and was led by Popé. The Pueblo Indians ran the Spanish yoke off and lived alone and independent for 12 years until the Spanish reconquered in 1692.
  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    This was a fight between Britain and France over North America. Two Indian tribes were involved, the Algorquian tribes sided with France and the Iroquois tribes sided with Britain.
  • Tuscarora War

    Tuscarora War
    In North Carolina, Chief Hancock led the Tuscarora to attack several settlements in the area and destroyed farms and killed the settlers. The Yamasee warriors and James Moore defeated the Tuscarora in 1713.

    Yamasee War
    The Yamasee led an Indian confederation to almost killing the entire white settlement that were in their region in Southern California.
  • Pontiac's Conspiracy

    Pontiac's Conspiracy
    A large army of Indian warriors led by Warrior chief Pontiac drove out all the British along every post on the Ohio River Valley, except Detroit. After taking over the fort for a total of five months, they left to find food for the winter.
  • Lord Dunmore's War

    Lord Dunmore's War
    Alarmed tribes along the Southern Ohio River Valley attacked a group of traders and settlers. The Governor of Virginia, Lord Dunmore, sent a large group of soldiers to attack the Indians. The soldiers killed 1,000 natives.
  • Old Northwest Warfare

    Old Northwest Warfare
    This was the first win after two defeats for the Americans under the lead of "Mad Anthony" Wayne at the Battle of Fallen Timbers.
  • Battle of Tippecanoe

    Battle of Tippecanoe
    The brother of Shawnee chief Tecumseh was known as The Prophet and attacked Willian Henry Harrison's force at daybreak. After fighting in hand-to-hand contact the natives ran.
  • Creek War

    Creek War
    Men led by Andrew Jackson attacked Creek Raiders who had previously attacked Fort Mims and killed the settlers.
  • First Seminole War

    First Seminole War
    The Seminole, in Florida, fought Andrew Jackson's army to defend runaway slaves and their land. Jackson's army lost, but forced Spain to gain control over the territory.
  • Black Hawk War

    Black Hawk War
    This was the last native conflict in the area of Northern Illinois and Southwestern Wisconsin and was led by Chief Black Hawk. This was a failed attempt by the Sauk and Fox tribes to move back into their homeland.
  • Second Seminole War

    Second Seminole War
    Led by Chief Osceola, The Seminole continued to fight for their land. They went into the Everglades where Osceola was captured by American Troops. This nearly eliminated the Seminole.
  • Navajo Conflicts

    Navajo Conflicts
    The continuous fighting between the Navajo tribe and the American Army led to the death of the Navajos and the incarceration far from their homeland.
  • Sioux Wars

    Sioux Wars
    The Sioux were led by Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse and resisted the waves of settlers that moved into "Indian Country" to keep their hunting land.
  • Rouge River War

    Rouge River War
    The attacks on the Rouge River Valley Indians were set to start a war that would make the miners unable to work because of a drought. This led to the survivors being forced off the reservation.
  • Third Seminole War

    Third Seminole War
    The Seminole, this time led by Chied Billy Bowlegs, fought in this last seminole war against the United States. Eventually Bowlegs surrendered and he and the Seminole people were deported to Indian Territory in Oklahoma.
  • Apache Attacks

    Apache Attacks
    The Apaches, with others tribes, were tired of reservation life and staged hundreds of attacks on outpost. The Geronmino tribes, one of the tribes who followed the Apaches, surrendered in 1886 while the others fought on till 1900.
  • Ute Wars

    Ute Wars
    The Ute nation fought against the whites that were taking over their lands and using all of the wildlife and resources.
  • Modoc War

    Modoc War
    Captain Jack and his follows ran from the horrible reservation to the lava beds at Tule Lake were they stayed and held off soldiers for six months. Eventually Captain Jack was hanged.
  • Red River War

    Red River War
    This war consisted of 14 battles against the Americans, which was led by William T. Sherman, and the Arapaho, Comanche, Cheyenne, and Kiowa Tribes. These tribes eventually all surrendered.
  • Battle of the Rosebud

    Battle of the Rosebud
    The Lokota and Cheyenne were led by Crazy Horse and oushed back soldiers that were under the command of General George Crook. This cut off reinforcements that could have benefited Custer at the Battle of the Little Bighorn.
  • Battle of Little Bighorn

    Battle of Little Bighorn
    An army of 250 men led by George A. Custer surprised attacked the Sioux tribe along the Little Bighorn River. Custer and his army were overwhelmed and every soldier of his army was killed, including himself.
  • Nez Percé War

    Nez Percé War
    A tribe led by Chief Joseph went on a 1,700 mile retreat to Canada and soon surrendered close to the border where Nelson Miles' soldiers were.
  • The Wounded Knee Massacre

    The Wounded Knee Massacre
    After the death of Sitting Bull, Big Foot had command of the final decision of fighting Lakota. They got trapped at Wounded Knee Creek and were ruined by the American Army.
