The British had brought Smallpox over. It was a very serious threat to the military and caused many people to die. -

Paul Revere rode through the streets alerting the town that the British were coming. -

This was the first battle of the Revolutionary War. -

Rifle with a knife fastened to the front used for close combat. This greatly impacted on how the war was fought. -

The British were trying to seize the hill, because it is such a good vantage point. The Americans could only hold them off for so long, and eventually the British got the hill. -
Long Rifles
These were created for a longer range and more accurate shooting. A shot could be fired and the soldier might not even be spotted. -
George Washington
The Continental Congress appointed George Washington to be in charge of the Army, which later he lead them to victory. He was also a member of the Continental Congress and would become the first President of the United States. -
Cure for Smallpox
The people figured out how to put a small, weak amount of the disease into healthy people for their immune system to kill and not let enter into the body. This helped to soldiers in the winter stay healthy. -
Samuel Adams
He was an important man during the Revolution. He organized the repeal of the Stamp Act. He helped move America away from Britian and was one of the signers of the Declaration. -
Benjamin Franklin
Benjamin Franklin helped write the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. He also helped win support from France during the Revolution. -
Battle of Saratoga
This was the turning point in the war. The Americans had the French by their sides. The British got surrounded by the Continental Army and surrendered. -
Invisible Ink
This was used to write secret letters. If the letter fell into the wrong hands then the message wouldn't be known. -
Battle of Yorktown
This was the Final battle of the American Revolution. The Americans won with the help of the French.
