In first grade Ruby was the first to go to an all white first grade class in the south. This is a big event because with out this event either it would have been a lot later for desegregation or never in the south. -
Diana v. California State Board
This helped people who have special needs be tested in the language they speak then always being tested in English. This help a multicultural class succeed if it did not have students who did not speak or read in fluent English. -

This allowed children who have mental issues that they have free access to public education. With this public schools can not segregate depending on mental state. -

National Association of Billingual Education was created
THis helps student who speak another language other than English as their primary language get the same education as everyone else. With this program they get to use their primary language but get eased into English. -
Refugee Act of 1980
This allowed children that were from all around the world and was a legal refugee they were able to get a US education. The opened up our education system up to any country with the proper paper work.
