The First School
Boston Latin School was the first school that was created and ran. This was first a boys only school and no girls were still allowed to learn. The things they learned was Latin and Greek and reading and math material. Some famous people went there to like John Hancock, Samuel Adams. Boarding Schools Take Indian Kids by Force
"Kill the Indian in him, and save the man" was the saying they used to treat Indians. Boarding schools separated the children from their parents and treated them horribly. They made them learn in the American style and cut their hair. They made them forget their traditions and not act like someone who did not have manners. -
"Separate But Equal"
This was a Supreme Court case which was Plessy v. Ferguson and a constitutional law. It was a decision of racial segregation between blacks and whites. Everyone would have schools and library and other stuff that they needed but they would only be segregated from color of skin.

Public Schools Everywhere
By this time everywhere in America would have free public school and its mandatory for all kids to attend school. But many places in the south would have a school but they would not have the materials like in white schools. Many kids would walk far just to go to a local school while whites had busses. -
National School Lunch Act
This was a program that helped kids with low-cost or free lunch if they were qualified. President Truman signed the act with the effort to improve the boys health who were going to enter into WWll. The program serves 31.6 million children each day at cost. -
Brown against Board of Education
This Supreme Court case would change education and segregation. It eliminated racial segregation between colored and every kid would go to the same school no matter the color of skin and will have the equal rights. -
Soviets Launch Sputnik
Once U.S heard and saw the Soviets launched a satellite into space. This was called a space race because they wanted who would go to the moon. So U.S government would give millions of funds to the schools so they can improve on the areas of math, reading and science. -
Praying Banned from Schools
Engel v. Vitale this case affected the Supreme Court because it declared school prayer and Bible readings unconstitutional. It does not meant that they cannot pray in school they can but in silent so it does not disrupt others. -

This was a report that ronald reagan said of how the educational system was failing. That the teachers and students should adapt to the new standard that they need. This was a evaluation of how education was going down and he tried to stay positive and find solutions. -
Race to the Top
Obama gave a grant of 4.35 billion it helped by renovating to local K-12. He wanted to improve early education for kids and help them learn better. This was like a aftermath of the Great Recession to help America.
