  • Serviceman’s Readjustment Act

    More widely know as the GI Bill, this legislation was passed to clearly state the entitlements for men and women after and during their military service. The benefits included assistant with school tuition/supplies, mortgages, and business start ups. It was designed to help these people integrate back into society.   • National School Lunch Act

    This legislation provides free or reduced lunch to students through government subsidies to schools.     America's population was becoming more diverse and some students entering public schools did not have English as their first language.
