Helen Longino - July 13th, 1944 (78 years old)
Helen was born in Jacksonville Florida. She would be the only daughter of Jame Charles Junior and Helen (O'Brian) Longino. Helen was an American Philosopher of Science, she has works pertaining to feminism. and social epistemology. She achieved her B.A. from Bernard College in english literature in 1966. She then got her M.A. in philosophy in 1967 from the University of Sussex, England. Finally getting her PhD in Philosophy from John Hopkins Uni. in 1973. -
The Schools She Graced
Helen started teaching at University of California, San Diego (1973-1975), then would go to Mills College (1975-1990), following that she would get a teaching job at Rice University (1990-1995) after that she would go onto the University of Minnesota (1995-2005) to later become part of the philosophy department in Stanford University (1995-2005). She was a woman's activist, establishing women's study in many institutes. -

Although I can't find how these two met, Helen would get married to Valerie Miner, a journal novelist. As far as I can find they are still together, living happily. They do not have any kids that I could find and keep their personal lives private -
Book One- Science as Social KNowledge
In her first book, published in 1990, she addresses the construct of how science states that the methodology used while still being biased is not correct. She develops a concept of "contextual empiricism" from research that was drawn from criticism of feminists. How one's thoughts of values would misrepresent the presentation and data of the conclusions made from experiments. -
Book 2 - The Fate of Knowledge
Helen's book, The Fate of knowledge, was published in 2002. In this book Helen challenges the argument between philosophers of science and socialists of science that social interaction aids in rational and firm outcomes. She also takes on bringing in her current works during this time period of social epistemology and that she has some ideas that could solve of the stubborn problems -
Book 3- Studying Human Behavior: How Scientists Investigate Aggression and Sexuality
In this book Helen goes through how scientists investigate the age old nature v. nurture rather than taking a side herself. She goes on to only dissect 5 topics, quantitative behavioral genetics, molecular behavior genetics, developmental psychological, neurophysiological and anatomy, and social/environmental methods. She adds to maybe changing some methods and approaches to these methods.This book has been said to be good for anyone wanting to know more about human behavior.
