    Persian war

    Persian War was a series of conflict between the Greeks and the Persian empire. Darius first, king of the Persia wanted to conquer Greek in 490 BCE. Persian empire tried to conquer Greek 3 times but all failed. So the king wanted to revenge Greek, and Persian war began. Persian War had famous battles, which are the Battle of Marathon, the Battle of Thermopylae and the Battle of Salamis. Greek won the Persian War, After the war, Greek liberated from the threat of Persians.

    Golden Age of Athens

    Golden Age is when Athens became very wealthy and powerful after the Persian War. Golden Age occurred between the Persian War and the Peloponnesian War. Athen's economic power led the Golden Age. Pericles was the leader of Athens during the Golden Age. Pericles introduced direct democracy, created a strong army and make beauty Athens. Athen's culture increased during the Golden Age. Many philosophers were in the Golden Age. Also, they invented sculpture, theatre, and philosopher​.

    Peloponnesian War

    The Peloponnesian War was a conflict between the Delian league led by Athens and Peloponnesian league led by Sparta. Sparta won this war cause Athens undergoes a plague in the second year which one-third of the population died, included Pericles, leader of Athens. HIstorian Thucydides wrote primary source account of the Peloponnesian war.

    Hellenism period

    Alexander's empire combined the knowledge of great empires. The combination of Greece influence with Eastern ideas creates a new culture known as Hellenistic culture. They had a museum with galleries, a zoo, a garden, and a dining hall. They also had a first research library with one half million scrolls. During Hellenism period, they also famous as an art. Hellenism art looked realistic, emotional and tend to show movement. Hellenism period ends when Alexander the Great died.
