  • Meeting Of The Estates General

    Meeting Of The Estates General
    France was in debt and they needed to find a way to fix it, so they called the Estates General together, the estates general consists of 3 estates. The First was the clergy, the second were the noblemen, and the 3rd was rather known as the other 97%, the poorer class.
  • Tennis Court Oath

    Tennis Court Oath
    One day, the 3rd estate (The Lower class representatives) were locked out of the building, so they went next door to tennis courts and proclaimed themselves the true representatives of France, calling themselves the national assembly. They decided to rebel against France's Government because they were taxing the lower class to death.
  • The Storming Of The Bastille

    The Storming Of The Bastille
    Revolutionaries decided to attack the Bastille and take it. This would take away a key armory from France, and make the revoltes that much stronger.
  • The Declaration of Rights

    The Declaration of Rights
    General Lafayette, influenced by Thomas Jefferson whom introduced this idea aka "Natural Rights". This basically declared the rights of humans as universal and pertain to everyone everywhere at all times. This helped outline what the citizens of France should have, what freedoms and what powers.
  • The March On Versailles

    The mob itself was mostly made up of Women who chanted bread. They carried various weapons, muskets, pitchforks, pikes etc. Their anger was directed mainly at Marie Antoinette who had said "Let Them Eat Bread" in response to the blight of food. This March caused the Monarchy to crumble, and caused the Monarchy to finally give up power.

    Napoleon, otherwise known as Napoleon I is a man who rose through the ranks of military during the French Revolution. He became a general and is known for being short, although he was actually average height at 5 feet 7 inches. He helped France become a strong Imperialist Nation, conquering various countries around France, they became a superpower.

    The Reign Of Terror

    This was basically when after the revolution they killed all the "enemies of the Revolution". They killed many of the Upper Estate members and many of the upper class in general. They killed many Higher Up Government Officials who directly influenced the food that never reached their starving hands. They mainly used the Guillotine to cut off heads. This caused much fear for those higher up.
  • Napoleon's Empire Collapses.

    Napoleon's Empire Collapses.
    Around this time, Napoleon's attacks started to get countered. Frankly, he was losing many battles. THe Allies eventually took down the French Forces and Napoleon was Banished to an island. He came back and attacked again, but was again beaten and banished again. He died on the island at the age of 52.
