    Compulsatory School Attendance Laws
    These laws established a minimum and maximum age in which kids were required to attend schools. They provided time periods in which they needed to attend and also provided penalties if they were not met.
  • Brown v Board of Education

    Brown v Board of Education
    This paved the way to diversity in schools as it concluded that separate but equal was not constitutional and forced schools to desegregate as quickly as possible.
  • National Defense Education Act

    National Defense Education Act
    This was signed in 1958 to provide funding to education at all levels of institutions. It also was to increase technological advances in the US, examples of this includes DARPA and NASA
  • Title IV

    Title IV
    Title IV strengthened the resources of universities and one of the things to come out of it was the Pell Grant
  • Title IX

    Title IX
    Title IX prohibited sexualized discrimination. It is commonly heard involving sports and has revolutionized women's participation in athletics.
