  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    Battle of Lexington and Concord
    The first battle to be fought by the colonists against the british in order to obtain independence. Paul Revere rode around yelling "the redcoats are coming" in order to warn the colonists about the british. In this battle, the british hoped to capture Sam adams and John hancock which were both revolutionary leaders at the time. After hours of searching concord for the leaders, the british retreated.

  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    The Americans got defeated by the British but then came back to fight on. Under Colonial William Prescott, he ordered 1,000 colonists to build forts on breeds hill that over look Boston. When red coats cam by, the colonists/Americans busted through in a lethal musket fire towards the British, making them retreat. 1,000 British were wounded and killed while the Americans were left with only 100 dead and 300 wounded.

    On Christmas day, General George Washington led the army through icy Delaware river to win 2 crucial battles at the time. Washington thought they were doomed so he planned out an assault where they took on Hessian Garrison at Trenton.

    Battle of Ticonderoga
    The green mountain boys militia led by Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold threw a surprise attack and captured the sleeping Garrison. Cannons were also captured which later on helped out a lot in the siege of Boston.

    Battle of Saratoga
    The two battles of saratoga were fought in present day new york. the first battle, the British barely won against the american forces led by Horatio Gates and Benedict Arnold. Afterwards, the Americans won because Britain's General Burgoyne surrendered and then Americas got a new ally who are the French. they recognized the colonist after the victory and decided to help out.

  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    An important battle led by George Washington. After day and night of endless firing of cannons and muskets, the war for independence end. The British general Cornwallis surrenders to George Washington. later, the people signed the treaty of Paris that ends the war and grants the american colonies freedom from British rule. All this was accomplished with help of the french.
