  • Hepbum Act

    This was an act that was passed to enlarge ICC jurisdiction on railroads. It was passed mainly to prevent railroads from increasing rates without approval.
  • Pure Food and Drug Act

    This was passed to ensure proper sanitation and preparation of human consumables. This included labeling and ingredient regulation.
  • Meat Inspection Act

    This was an act signed by Roosevelt that prohibited the sale of adulterd or misbranded livestock. It also included regulation on sanitation and proper meat handling.
  • Antiquities Act

    This was passed to give the president and government power to declare land a national monument or park. This act is responsible for many of today national parks and monuments, many of witch were picked by rosevelt.

    This was put into place to make prostitution illegal. This was later amended in 1978 to expand and be more specific.

    This was added to the cinstitution to permit a federal income tax. IT was passed in order to pay for general duties of the government like military and upkeeping.

    This was added to the constitution in order to allow senators to become directly elected by the people of the state. It altered Article 1, act 3 of the original constitution.

    This was passed to create the Federal Reserve system in America. This would help the nation's banks. and today is the most powerful government agency in economic affairs.

  • Clayton antitrust Act

    This was enacted in order to prevent monopolistic business practices in the US. It was put in place to combat big monopolies and unfair competition during the time period.
  • Federal Trade Commission Act

    This was passed to give the government the power to use tools to manipulate or change unfair practices in the marketplace. This allowed for fair competition and provided protection for consumers.
  • Workers Compensation Act

    This was passed to provide government compensation to employees who are injured during work. This also provides compensation to the family of someone who was killed due to work-related events.
  • Keating-Owen Act

    This was passed to regulate child labor. It was declared unconstitutional for people under the age of 14 to work.
  • Adamson Act

    This was an act that established the eight-hour workday for railroad workers. This also included regulation on education and highway construction.
  • Volstead Act

    This was enacted to provide enforce the eighteenth amendment. It prohibits the manufacture and sale of alcoholic beverages.
  • 18th Amendment

    This wasn encated to prohibit the sale and manufacturing of alcohol in the USA. It was put in place because alcohol was doing more harm than good.

    This was added to the constitutiton in order to give women the right to vote. This was a big role in ending sexism in America.
