    Augustus dramatically amplify the Empire, annexing Egypt , Dalmatia , Pannonia , Noricum , and Raetia.

    Tiberius was the greatest Roman general, his conquest of Pannonia , Dalmatia , Raetia , and temporarily, parts of Germania , laid the foundations for the northern frontier. But everyone thinks he is dark, sombre and reclusive, who never wants to be the empire.
    When his son died he became more reclusive and aloof.
    In 26 AD Tiberius removed himself from Rome.

    Nero focused much of his attention on diplomacy, trading and enhancing the cultural life of the empire, ordering theatres built and promoting athletic games.
    Nero killed his mother and his brother.
    In 64 AD, Roma was destroyed by a big fire. Some think Nero started the fire. Then Nero has been killed.

    On 18 September 96, Domitian was assassinated in a palace, on the same day Nerva was declared emperor by the Roman Senate.
    Nerva's brief reign was marred by financial difficulties and his inability to assert his authority over the Roman army. After barely fifteen months in office, Nerva died of natural causes.

    He built a wall called Hadrian's Wall, which marked the northern limit of Britannia. He also rebuilt the Pantheon.
    He spent extensive amounts of time with the military; he usually wore military attire and even dined and slept amongst the soldiers.

    Diocletian rose through the ranks of the military to become cavalry commander to the Emperor Carus.
