  • Six-Day War

    Six-Day War
    Egypt demanded the UN troops to leave Gaza and Sinai Peninsula and immediately closed off the Gulf of Aqaba. This upset Israel because it was their only route to the red sea, so Israel launched an attack on Egypt, Syria, and Jordan. The attacks destroyed most of the airplanes that were on the grounds.
  • Yom Kippur War

    Yom Kippur War
    Egypt was determined to get their land back so they launched a surprise attack on Israel. The Israeli's received support from the US and were able to push back the Egyptian troops. Both sides eventually came to the mutual agreement of a cease-fire.
  • The Camp David Accords

    The Camp David Accords
    In 1977, Egyptian president Anwar Sadat declared that Egypt wanted peace with Israel. US president Jimmy Carter then invited both presidents to Camp David, to help bring them to peace. After many disagreements and heated arguments, the two 30 year long rivals came to a decision.
  • Intifalda

    Intifalda
    West Bank and Gaza were angry that Israel was building settlements in their land, so the youths of Palestine broke out in violence against the Israeli troops. In 1993, the two leaders of these nations negotiated the Oslo Accords, which was put in place to end the violence.
  • Suicide Bombs

    Suicide Bombs
    Extremists from both sides of the peace treaty worked hard to prevent it from happening. A group called Hamas set out suicide bombers to harm Israel civilians. The battling continued back and forth for a while.
