    Israel was expecting an Arab attack so they decided to strike first. Israel defeated Arab forces and gained control of the Golan Heights, Sinai Peninsula, Gaza Strip, West Bank, and East Jerusalem.

    Egypt and Syria wanted to win their land back from the Israeli's so they launched a surprise attack against Israel. Both sides agreed to a cease-fire in the end. Also, during the war Arab members of OPEC declared an oil embargo.
  • Camp David Accords

    Camp David Accords
    Egypt wanted peace with Israel and they set up an agreement known as the Camp David Accords. In this agreement, Egypt recognized Israel and Israel returned the Sinai Peninsula to Egypt.
  • Intifada

    Palestines resented Israeli's so much that a rebellion started. Palestinian youths battles Israeli troops with widespread street violence.
  • Second Intifada

    Second Intifada
    In this intifada, the youths were joined by Palestinian security forces with guns. There were suicide bombers sent to Israel and the Israeli's countered this by sending troops in the West Bank and Gaza.
