  • Korean War

    Korean War
    The Korean war began when the North Korean communist army began to invade south Korea which was quickly overrun. The US, UN and ROK undertook an attack on a port on the west cost of Korea where they eventually recaptured Korean land from the north Koreans and they fled into the northern most provinces.
  • Warsaw pact

    This was the Soviet rebellion against the NATO and was included because the war was done through action and reaction, so it's good to include a soviet response to the US action. Warsaw was also important because it was who the Soviets had allied and gave the US and idea of the countries who supported the USSR.
  • Hungarian Uprising

    Hungarian Uprising
    The Hungarian uprising took place in 1956 where a revolution was to try and take place to demolish the communists attitudes coming form the Hungarian people's republic and its soviet policy's. on the 4th of November to the 10th conflict took place between the soviets and the Hungarians only for hungry to win with a loss of thousands.
  • American Spy Plane

    American Spy Plane
    In 1955 a spy plane called the U-2 was developed and made in Pakistan as a request from the U.S president in hopes to retrieve pictures and to find out the Soviets plans and there war capability's. The plane needed to be kept a secret and had to be invisible because any sign of conflict or aggression could spark conflict and possibly war. On the 9th of April 1960 a U-2 plane of the CIA unit "10-10" piloted by Francis Gary Powers was shot down and captured over the USSR.
  • Berlin Walll

    Berlin Walll
    In 1961 the construction of the Berlin wall began by east Germany being built out of cement and barbed wire rising 3.6 meters high and spanning 155km around west Berlin. The wall was eventually dismantlement 29 years later on the 9th of November 1989. The hopes where for the war that west Berlin wouldn't be able to revive supply's and therefor have to rely on the USSR.
