  • 460 BCE

    Democritus

    Democritus
Democritus was a philosopher in the 430's that questioned theories that were implied in those times. For example Aristotle's matter theory. He said that matter actually was made of different "materials" not only the elements. That its made of tiny particles that could not be created or divided. People didn't really accept this idea, but actually chose Aristotle's side later on. Argos rises against Sparta during this time.

  • 384 BCE

    Aristotle

    Aristotle
Aristotle was one of the most influential philosophers of his time. One of his most popular theories talks about what matter is made of. He believed that it contained only 4 elements. Water, earth, air, and fire. Unlike democritus, his ideas were accepted and embraced for many years. The egyptian pharaoh "Hakor" then dies and is ruled over by his own son Nepherites II.

  • John Dalton

    John Dalton
Later, Dalton's Ideas reaffirmed Democritus's beliefs later in time but backed up by experiments and actual facts, not only theories. Dalton said that all matter is made of atoms, indivisible and indestructible. Christian VII becomes the new king of Denmark.

  • Johann Wolfgang Döbereiner

    Johann Wolfgang Döbereiner
Johann Wolfgang Döbereiner actually studied and experimented with ignition of hydrogen on contact with powdered platinum and the properties of bromine, a liquid, and many other elements of the periodic table. Pierre Jean Robiquet, French chemist is born.
    Mexico UNKNOWN
  • Dimitri Mendeleiev

    Dimitri Mendeleiev
Dimitri created the periodic law, and the whole periodic table. Categorized by letter ,atomic weight and valency numbers, Dimitri Mendeleiev made one of the biggest contributions or discoveries to modern science fueling many other scientists and philosophers further and facilitating their work. Upper Canada, is incorporated as Toronto.
    Plan of Cuernavaca.
  • John Newlands

    John Newlands
John Newlands continued to update the periodic table ,classifying them in groups of eight and finally giving each element an atomic number. Based on their physical properties. He named them octaves because of each group and to simulate the musical notes.
  • Henri Becquerel

    Henri Becquerel
Becquerel's earliest work was concerned with the plane polarization of light but later focusing on discovering a new property of matter. Napoleon III became Emperor of the French.

  • Joseph J. Thomson

    Joseph J. Thomson
Thomson's atomic model is like the "chocolate cookie" model because it doesn't have a nucleus but a positively charged sphere with a negatively charged electrons. Later debunked by Rutherford.
  • Max Planck

    Max Planck
According to the internet "Planck mass. In physics, the Planck mass, denoted by mP, is the unit of mass in the system of natural units known as Planck units. It is approximately 0.02 milligrams (roughly the mass of a flea egg)."
  • Ernest Rutherford

    Ernest Rutherford
Ernest Rutherford was one of the people that helped to "build" the atomic theory. He even came up with his own atomic model. It consists of a positive nucleus and electrons having an orbit around it. He did an experiment to get to thais model. His experiment consisted in a alpha particle light going through gold foil and bouncing everywhere unexpectedly concluding it had a nucleus. 1871 is "CHICAGO'S CENTER FOR TECHNOLOGY AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP" opens it's doors.

  • Albert Einstein

    Albert Einstein
Many people say "Einstein was one of the fathers of the atomic age." Because he was the one that established law of mass- energy equivalent. He studied and experimented with matter and energy as exchangeable. He is one of the most known and famous scientist in the world, becoming a pop culture icon.
  • Niels Bohr

    Niels Bohr
Bohr's model replaced Rutherford's. He changed and hydrogen atom and a low-to-high classification on the electrons on each orbit and how much (amount) energy it releases.Yet his model was not accurate. Irish terrorists damage Westminster Hall and the Tower of London with dynamite.
Nellie Bly writes "Six Months in Mexico" after her travels through Mexico in about 1885.
  • Henry Moseley

    Henry Moseley
In the year 1912 Moseley tried to use high positive voltage to supposedly pull beta particles back into its radioactive source.Henry hoped to use the results to help one of the predictions of Albert Einstein’s special theory of relativity. That mass will be increased with velocity.
  • Werner Heisenberg

    Werner Heisenberg
He came up with the theory of quantum mechanics, published in 1925. He was very influential and was making speeches at very big schools, colleges and big events after WWI. He is considered one of the smartest people in the world. Funeral of Queen Victoria at St George's Chapel
    Caste war of Yucatan.
  • Marie and Pierre Curie

    Marie and Pierre Curie
Marie and Pierre Curie discovered Polonium and Radium. Two highly used elements from the periodic table. Later, Marie discovered that thorium gives off the same rays as uranium and that it depended on the amount of uranium or thorium in each one.
