    Hitler's first Saturday suprise
    For "defensive" purposes Hitler announces he was rebuilding the German airforce, reinstating the draft, and rearming the nation. This broke the Treaty of Versailles where they were restricted to only 100,000 troops and only a certain amount of weapons. This showed Hitler was pretty much ignoring the treaty.

    Hitler's second Saturday suprise
    This time Hitler and his troops occupied the Rhineland which was set aside by the Treaty of Versailles. This had made it so that even though it was part of Germany the nation could not keep their troops there. This clearly broke the treaty but no one reacted to it in fear of another war.

    Hitler summons Austrian Prime Minister for secret meeting
    At this meeting Hitler asked Kurt Von Schuschnigg to join Germany. He declined and Hitler threatend him and gave him three days to make a decision. Von Schuschnigg used this time to get a vote. When Hitler didn't get an answer he invaded Austria which was approved by 99.7% of the Austrians

    Austrians vote on the Nazi invasion of Austria and 99.7% of the voters express approval. This was a few weeks after the invasion. The prime minister had disagreed with it.

    This was an agreement that Hitler would get the land in Sudetenland which was part of Czechoslovakia. This land had many Germans in it who wanted to join the reich. The meeting was held between the French, British, Italians, and Germans. The meeting was called by Benito Mussolini

    This was when the Polish city of Piotrkow was heavily bombed by the German army. This bombing lasted for two days and caused many casualties. The result of this was that the German army could invade the city of Piortrkow.

    Hitler's invasion of Poland was what ended up starting WWII. At this time both Germany and the Soviet Union had completely occupied Poland. By this time the Allied Forces had to get involved and declare war.

    This is when Hitler starts his "reign of terror" on the Jews. He makes them wear yellow stars to define them as Jews, gave them curfews, and moved them to ghettos. This was before he deported them to camps.

    Germany conquers Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembutg, and France

    Germany takes over much of Western Europe in a short amount of time. This shows Hitler was gaining power. As a result Winston Churchill, a powerful leader and speaker, as their prime minister.

    Hitler calls for invasion of Russia
    Hitlers calls for the invasion of Russia. This broke the deal he had made saying he wouldn't invade Russia. He did this so that he could destroy the Jewish "menace" in Russia.
  • Japan attacks Pearl Harbor

    Japan attacks Pearl Harbor
    This was when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor Naval Base in Hawaii. This forced America to join the war. 2,335 Americans died because of this one attack.
  • America declares war on Japan

    America declares war on Japan
    This was one day after the attacks in Pearl Harbor. This caused both Germany and Japan to declare war. By declaring war the three most powerful nations in the world, the US, Britain, and Soviet Union, were now united to fight against Germany.
