Temujin was born in Deluun Boldog near modern day Mongolia. Very little is known of his earliest years but it is said that he might have been born into a family of blacksmiths -

After Temujin's father was poisoned and killed, Temujin tries to take control of his father's tribe as chieftain. The tribe,however, could not accept being ruled by a little boy and banished Temujin and his remaining family members out of their tribe. -

Temujin is captured by the Tayichi'ud
Temujin is captured by the Tayichi'ud, his father's formers allies, and enslaved, Temujin escapes later escapes, however. After this escape, Temujin meets Jelme and Bo'orchu who will later become the generals for the army he will soon lead. -

Temujin is married to Borte
Temujin tries to build a good relationship with the Onggirat tribe and so, he marries Borte. The two were already arranged to marry though when they were both about 10 years old by their fathers. (Obviously, while Temujin's father was still alive) -

Temujin's ascension
Temujin allies himself with the blood-brother of his father, Wang Khan. They were both on very friendly terms until Wang Khan refused Temujin's idea of marrying his son to Wang's daughter.This brings them into a war that ended with Wang Khan's defeat. -

Temujin Fights Jamukha
Gur Khan, the universal ruler, chooses Jamukha over Temujin to become the next Khan. There used to be a big rivalry between the two and now, Temujin went to war against him to become the universal ruler of all the Mongolian tribes. -

Temujin Becomes Genghis Khan
Temujin defeats Jamukha by 1205 and finally unites all the rival clans in another year. On 1206, he established a nation similar in size to modern Mongolia and gave himself the new name, Genghis Khan. It translates to “Universal Ruler" -

Genghis Khan's war against the Jin Dynasty
The Mongols attacked the Jin Dynasty of northern China in 1211. 3 years later, the Mongols besieged into the Jin capital, Zhongdu, and the Jin emperor surrendered. The Jin emperor escaped however and retreated to the south. Genghis Khan, angry that they ran, then destroyed the city of Zhongdu -

Genghis Khan the Conquerer
Genghis Khan made many campaigns before his last on 1226. He conquered the Khwarezmia Empire, most of northern India, Afghanistan, Georgia, Kievan Rus', and Hungary. On 1226, he led his final campaign and sieged Xi Xia. The emperor of Xi Xia soon surrendered like many others before him. -

Genghis Khan dies
Khan suffered from a severe horseriding injury and passed away on his deathbed. Ögedei Khan, Genghis Khan's third son, succeeded him and continued to spread the Mongol Empire across Asia. By tradition of his tribe, he was buried without any markings on his tombstone.
