Cell theory

  • Robert hooke

    Robert hooke
Hooke discovered the honeycomb like structure of the cell. Hooke also discovered the walls of a cell by looking at a piece of cork through a microscope. He used the word cell, other wise known as pores,to describe plant tissues. He was the first to Discover the structure of the cell/cell wall by using a microscope, but he did not know about the other organelles, and the nucleus. This is an improvement because we (us humans) now know what the structure of the cell looks like.
  • Anton van Leeuwenhoek

    Anton van Leeuwenhoek
Leeuwenhoek redefined the microscope, and devolped a better, more superior, quality of lenses. He used a sample of water from a pond and Dicvovered,in 1670, a single cell organism, other wise known as a Protozoa. The microscope that Anton made improved the discovery because his microscope was fined tuned and made the specimen easier and more viable to see under the microscope.
  • Robert brown

    Robert brown
Robert brown Discovered the center of the cell, otherwise known as a nucleus, in 1833. He was a botanist, which is a plant explorer, who studied the plant life and how the plant cells function together, therefore he discovered the nucleus in a plant cell. The nucleus coordinates the cell's activities, which include growth. He was able to create a description of all the cell functions. His contributations improved the cell theory because he named a specific and a very important part of the cell.
  • Matthias Jakob Schleidem

    Matthias Jakob Schleidem
Schleidem Dicvovered in 1838 that plants were made up from plant cells. He discovered this by observing living plants, and he stated that the plant cell is the basis of botany, which is the scientific study of plants. His discovery improved Robert brown's theory, the founding of the nucleus in a plant cell, because Schleidem Discovered how the plant is created By using the plant cells.
  • Theodor Schwann

    Theodor Schwann
Theodor Schwann stated that the cell is the basic and the most simplest form of life. He included that the cells are also orangisms,a single-celled life form, and all organisms consists of one or several more cells. He also stated that the cells are a very important part of the development in biology. Schwann's discovery was an improvemt because he declared that the simplest form of life is a cell, and what organisms are consisted of, which is important because us humans are orangisms.
  • Rudolf Virchow

    Rudolf Virchow
Rudolf Virchow Dicvovered how new cells can be produced. New Cells are only able to be produced by the division/splitting of an already existing cell. This improved all the other scientists theories because Virchow discovered how the general cell was created, and the other scientists just added the function and parts of the cell, or discovered a differnt type of cell, instead of finding out where the cell originated from.
