    The dynasty begin well but after the government of Qianlong began its initial decline in prosperity and imperial control. The population increased, but taxes and government revenues were set at a low rate, which practically became into an eventual fiscal crisis.

    This event started by the opium trade with Great Britain, when the emperor censured the trade because of the effect in the population, GB started the war. After the defeat of China, European powers imposed unequal treaties in China.

During the conflict, it occupied important areas of southern China.It was only put down after the death of millions of Chinese by regional armies.Final victory of the Manchu Dynasty and its allies; considerable weakening of the Manchu.

They loss of Korea as a tributary state

    It was a movement against the foreign influence in commerce, politics, religion and technology of the last years of the 19th century. In August 1900, about 230 foreigners, thousands of Chinese Christians, an unknown number of rebels, their sympathizers and other Chinese had been killed in the revolt and its repression.The extent of popular anti-Western feeling turned into widespread violence.
  • The Double Tenth Revolution

    Revolution that started to overthrow the government of the Manchu Dynasty and to establish a New Republic. After the death of the Emperor the Dynasty was ruled by Pu Yi and the Prince Chun, this only make the dynasty weak, they lost control of the military and soldiers| started the rebellion in Wuchang. This ends with the Dynasty and they imposed the first president of the republic: Sun Yixian
  • Warlord era

    Period in the history of China when control of the country was divided among former military cliques of the Beiyang Army and other regional factions.
    The era began when Yuan Shikai died in 1916, and lasted until 1928 when the GMD officially unified China through the Northern Expedition.

    The GMD and the CCP wanted to unified China and defeat the warlords, they form together the front. By the Northern expedition they crushed the warlords unifying China, both parties know that was only by a certain time they could be together because they shared different ideology.
  • Purification Movement

    Purification Movement
    This were attacks and massacres of thousands of communists, trade unionists and peasant leaders. About 250,000 people were killed, the CCP was very nearly crushed by the end of 1927. The GMD pursued them, determined to destroy the communists.
