    Constantine the Great 272-337

    He was trained by Diocletian and soon became emperor.
    He was the first christian emperor, and he declared that Christianity was going to be the knew religion of the Byzantine Empire.
    He also defeated Maxentius who was being a threat for the hole Roman Empire.
    Before his death he decided to clean himself because he knew that he had done some terrible things but wanted to die clean.

    Theodosius the Great 347-395

    Theodosius made a lot of things to the Byzantine Empire.
    In one of those was the defeat of the Barbarians and cutting their eyes out, living only one of 1000 with one eye to lead the enemy soldiers back home.
  • Period: 527 to 565

    Justinian I 482-565

    He was a great emperor, he created a marvelous piece of art called the Hagia Sophia ; he also expanded the Byzantine Empire to western side and created new laws and rights for the women since he was married with Theodora, a great women who wanted a better future for the women.
    The Hagia Sophia is mostly known because of the Nika riots death and how they were looked up in a stadium and for Justinian to leave something honoring this he created the Hagia Sophia.

    Theodora 500- 548

    Theodora was a marvelous women, she had lots of ideas to make the empire a better place, she was actually married with Justinian.
    Theodora was actually sister of another women emperor that will gover soon later called Zoe.
    Theodora is mostly known because of the act of the Nika Riots that she gave to Justinian
  • Period: 610 to 641

    Heraculis the Great 641

    He is mostly confused with Hercules but he was actually an emperor in the Byzantine Empire who actually had 12 children two wifes, and a mindset for Justice.
    Actually Heraculis reduced corruption in the Byzantine Empire, but he declared himself as an emperor.
  • Period: 780 to 802

    Irene of Athens 752-803

    Irene was known for being very pretty and nice, but she also took the eyes of her son and took them out making him die ( Constantine VI ).
    Apart from that she was vanished from the Byzantine Empire but got unvanished after.
    Finally an important fact about Irene is that she was the first women emperor of the Byzantine empire
  • Period: 811 to 1057

    Basil II 700-1057

    He isn't very known but he is still an emperor in the byzantine empire, he actually lost some wars against some enemies, was brother of Constantine and fought Bulgaria for 25 years.
    He also had the custom to take the eyes out of his enemies.
  • Period: 1028 to 1050

    Zoe 978-1050

    Zoe isn't known for any accomplishments in the Byzantine Empire but she did have an interesting life.
    She got married four times, killed her second husband, adopted the cousin of her dead husband and immediately married another men.
    Incredibly she was loved by everyone.
