  • The fight of Concord and Lexington.

    The redcoats were heading to Concord, but when they reached to Lexington, there was 70 minutemen waiting for the king's troops. As of this fight, there were more minutemen injured and dead than the redcoats. The redcoats continued to go to Concord, but they decided to go back to Boston since they had a fight with the minutemen. As they was heading back, they was ambushed by other minutemen's.
  • The fight of Bunker Hill.

    The British general Thomas Gage wanted to send British soldiers to attack the militiamen in Breeds Hill. The colonist held up till they outnumbered the redcoats before leaving. As result of the battle, the British ended up with 1,000 fatality, while the colonist lost 450 men.
  • The attempt to seize New York.

    The British voyaged to New York Harbor during the summer of 1776. They brought about 42,000 soldiers, including merchants, hired soldiers from Hesse. The colonist tried to defend New York, but they retreated since they was poorly supplied.
  • Washington heading to Trenton, New Jersey.

    On a Christmas night of 1776, George Washington crossed the Delaware river with 2,400 men. His goal was to head to Trenton, New Jersey were the Garrisons were at and give them a surprise attack. This way he had an advantage of beating the Garrisons.
  • The event of Saratoga.

    The General Burgoyne planned to meet up with British troops in New York. As he reached, he encountered with colonists and it ended up in a fight. Burgoyne didn't knew that his comrades were occupied with maintaining Philadelphia. As a result, he ended up surrounded by the colonist troops.
  • Washington and his troops surviving in Valley Forge.

    Washington and his soldiers were short on supplies and food while they was at the winter camp in Valley Forge. As the shortage of supplies and food, more than 2,000 soldiers died. The ones who survive didn't abandon the group.
  • The Continental Army received help from Philadelphia.

    A wealthy merchant from Philadelphia and his associate were appointed by congress because they helped the continental Army. The money that they gave was begged, borrowed and raised from Philadelphia Quakers and Jews. That money went to the salaries of the Continental Soldiers.
  • The British relent in Yorktown.

    The armies of Washington, Lafayette and the French helped to defeat the British. The French army defeated the British ships and blocked Chesapeake bay. American soldiers and French soldiers caught the British and attacked them. After few months, the American finally defeated the British.
  • The Treaty of Paris being signed.

    In September of 1783, delegates signed the Treaty of Paris. The Treaty of Paris affirmed the United States independence and the boundaries of it. The U.S extended from Canada to the Florida border. It also extended from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mississippi river.
