  • French and indian war

    A war between France and Great Britain, France trying to expand it's land to Ohio valley made conflict with the British colonies and war started that lasted 7 year, after the war ended money was lost and the British made the colonist pay taxes which led to the stamp act
  • Stamp Act

    The stamp act was to put taxes on the newspaper, it was so the British empire could collect money that they lost due to the French and Indian War
  • Boston massacre

    Boston massacre
    The colonist were not happy with the British about the taxes and they started a protest, the colonist harassed the British army and the army opened fire and killed 5 colonist. The incident went on the newspaper and was know as the Boston massacre.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    Members of the sons of liberty wanted to protest in the taxes of tea so they got on a the ship and dumping about 90,000 pounds of tea. This made the King George III really mad and give them a reason to fight with colonist.
  • Intolerable acts

    The Intolerable acts were laws passed by the British Parliaments, they were there to punish the Massachusetts colonist for dumping the tea. This led to colonist getting mad and wanting freedom, they don't want to be punished every time they protest.
  • Patrick Henry’s “Give me liberty or give me death” speech

    Patrick Henry’s “Give me liberty or give me death” speech
    Patrick gave a speech to tell the others colonist that they deserve freedom and they should part ways from Britain, Henry says he wants to be free but if he doesn't get freedom he rather die. This led to the colonist wanting they're freedom from Britain.
  • Paul Revere’s Ride and the Battles of Lexington and Concord

    Paul Revere’s Ride and the Battles of Lexington and Concord
    All night British troops marched from Boston to Concord. Paul Revere rode to Lexington to warn the colonist that the troops were heading their way. This battle led to the revolution war.
  • Declaration of Idependence

    The declaration of independence was written by Thomas Jefferson and on July 4 it was adopted, it was important to the colonist because it gave us freedom from king George III.
  • France and the United States form an alliance

    France and the U.S formed an alliance which gave the colonist an advantage to win the revolution war. Without their alliance we probably still be a part of Britain.
  • Treaty of Paris ends the war

    The treaty of Paris ended the revolution war and the British accepted the independence of the U.S. This day was the day the battle was formally ended.
