  • The Battle of Concord and Lexington

    When a line of 70 minutemen stood in the front of the British army a fight was coming. Then someone shot at they both opened fire at the end 8 colonist died and the British marched to the Concord bridge were colonist fought and retreated, so the British marched back to Boston. But on the way the colonist killed 73 lobster backs before they got to Boston. In the end it was regarded as a colonist win, and it was the start of a long war.
  • The Battle of Fort Ticonderoga

    Benedict Arnold was a militia general who brought 400 colonist to take Fort Ticonderoga in New York. Arnold joined forces with the another Colonist group the Green Mountain Boys. On May 10th together they took the British by surprise and forced a surrender with minimal loss, and were able to get cannons and other military supplies.
  • The Battle of Bunker Hill

    The British still controlled Boston, so Colonial leader William Prescott set his men on Bunker hill ( or Breed's hill). The British noticed, and on June 16th the British surrounded Bunker hill. Having low ammunition Prescott ordered hiss troops not to shoot until you could see the whites of their eyes. The British attacked the hill three times before the colonist had to surrender because they ran out of ammunition. In the end the British won, but loss 1000 troops.
  • The Battle of Long Island

    George Washington had 20,000 troops who had a real reason to fight, and in late August they got their chance. The British ultimately beat the Americans because of shear numbers.
  • The Battle of Trenton

    George Washington needed a victory, so on Christmas night he took 2400 troops across the Delaware to kill the British while they were sleeping. He won and scattered the British troops, and marched to Princeton.
  • The Battle of Saratoga

    The Plan to take Albany was in trouble. General Burgoyne decided to capture Fort Saratoga which he did, but he was low on supplies. So he sent troops to get supplies, but they failed. Colonist gathered around the Fort lead by General Horatio Gates. Then on October 7 Burgoyne tried to attack the colonist, but loss and surrendered ten days later.
  • The Battle of Monmoth

    The Battle of Monmouth was between the British and Hessians, and the Continental army. George wanted to intercept the slow British troops, and he did at Monmoth New Jersey. Around 400 British died some to heat stroke.
  • The Battle of Cowpens.

    The fight took to the south, and on the border of North and South Carolina a even fight took place. Overwhelmingly the americans won by killing 120 British and capturing 830.
  • The Battle of York Town

    George Washington was setting a trap in York Town and the British fell for it. For one of the first times the Colonist had more numbers that the British, and the Colonist had the French navy supporting them. In the end General Cornwallis Surrendered
