    The Battles of Lexington & Concord
    The Battle of Lexington & Concord kicked of the Revolutionary War. Hundreds of British soldiers marched from Boston to Concord. Then, Paul Revere and other riders alerted colonists that the British were coming. A confrontation in Lexington kicked off the battles.
  • Battle of Fort Ticonderoga

    The Battle of Fort Ticonderoga was the first American victory of the Revolutionary. The victory gave the Continental Army artillery to be used in future battles.
  • The Battle of Bunker Hill

    After overhearing that the British were planning to send troops from Boston to occupy the hills surrounding the city. 1000 colonial militiamen built forts on top of Breed's Hill, overlooking Boston. British went up the hill 3 times before winning the battle.
  • Battle Of Trenton

    Washington defeated some Hessian before withdrawing. Then, a week later he returned to Trenton to lure British forces south. Then, executed during night to capture Princeton, on January 3rd.
  • Battle of Long Island

    After the British left Boston, George Washing guessed that British next target would be New York, and he was correct. Washington and his army marched to New York, and waited for the British to come. On April 27, British fired on Americans in Brooklyn. Washington hurried by boat. British eventually retreated.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    The Battle of Saratoga was the turning point of the Revolutionary War. September 19th, British forces defeat the American forces on the first battle. The British attacked the Americans again at Bemis Heights, on October 7th. This time though the Americans would end up winning the 2nd battle. This then convinced the French to ally up with the Americans during the war.
  • Battle of Monmouth

    Washington sent 5000 men to assault the British near Monmouth Court House, NJ. The weather was very hot and many soldiers were suffering a heat stroke. British decided to leave the city and focus on New York.
  • Battle of Cowpens

    The Battle of Cowpens took place in South Carolina. The Americans inflicted heavy casualties on the British, and the battle was a huge turning point.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Washington, commanding over 17000 french troops and continental troops began the siege known best as Yorktown, Virginia. After 3 weeks of non-stop bombardment, through day and night, from cannons to artillery, the British surrender. Ending the war for independence.
