I was born on August 11, 2002 in Raleigh, North Carolina to Rosa and Donald Dula. I lived with my older brother Jonathan and kitty cat Sam.
  • Preschool & Church

    Preschool & Church
I was a church baby! I grew up in the church and went to a christian preschool. I first fell in love with dance in my school and church. I also learned that I loved music a lot in church!
  • Dancing Machine

    Dancing Machine
In preschool we would have performances where we would dance and sing and I would do both! I loved rehearsing and practicing the dance on stage and always trying to show off my amazing moves!

    Elementary School and The Arts

I went to East Garner Elementary School and I became very fluent in music, arts, and dance! I was very artistic and very creative when it came to art class and projects. I learned how to play many different instruments as well like the ukulele, the drums, recorder, piano and guitar. I was also selected to be in acting performances at different schools and I performed in many musicals. Lastly I learned how to salsa dance and performed at different schools and performances at school.

    6th Grade

I went to Carnage middle school and I was very shy at first because I didn’t have any friends except for one and we had no classes together. But then I made friends and everything turned out alright! I was in chorus and band my first year through 8th grade year and I loved it! Music was my safe haven and I truly embraced and surrounded myself with music. I helped my choral and band teacher with many events we had around school. I also took piano and it was like second nature to me!
  • Period: to

    7th Grade

This was a year of heavy dancing and great grades! I made honor roll each quarter and pretty much had straight A’s all year! My dance mentor at my church taught me so many different dancing techniques and not just related to liturgical dancing it was ballet and modern so pretty much the styles I grew up with just building more on them.
  • Period: to

    8th Grade

8th grade was a year of sports and arts! In February I tried out for an all star cheerleading team outside of school and I made it! It was so much fun meeting new people and making new friends as I was there. In my middle school I also tried out for softball and made the team and that was super fun as well! I had many field trips due to my chorus and band classes where we performed at adjudicated events, performed for the school, and performed downtown during Christmas!
  • Cheerleading

    Cheerleading
From when I started cheering on my allstar team in February I traveled to different places A LOT! From high schools to colleges to even different states! Once I got to high school I tried out for the cheer team there and made the squad so not only was I cheering inside of school, I was still cheering outside of school as well!
  • Period: to

    9th Grade

When I hit high school I felt as if I had so much more freedom, however I didn’t abuse it. I met new people and made a lot of friends and I wasn’t shy so that wasn’t hard. I also began dancing in high school as well, for the first time ever. But I loved it so much and my teacher was super fun as well! I also played softball again my freshman year and it was very enjoyable!
  • Period: to

    10th Grade

My tenth grade year, I excelled in all of my classes! I began taking two dance classes and that was ballet and modern so I was in 3 different concerts instead of just two or one. I learned a lot of things about myself, things like it’s okay to be alone, it’s okay to cry and it’s okay to say you’re not okay. I also participated in BSU as a model and that was when I first realized maybe I do like to model.

    Summer 18

On June 12, 2018 I had a hernia repair surgery and I struggled a lot during recovery. I wanted to dance and go hang out with my friends but I missed out on a lot trying to recover and I eventually became extremely sad. I could only sleep on either my back or my right side and my left side was my favorite. However when my recovery process was over and I could walk normal speed I still had to be careful because I would still have some abdomen pain. So I still had to take things slow.
  • Period: to

    11th grade

My junior year was a year of embracement. I still took dance classes inside of school, I still cheered and I still played softball. I did BSU again and this time i did just about everything. I modeled, danced two pieces, I stepped, and I sang. I had a lot on my plate during that show and I still made it work even when I had to change clothes in under 20 seconds!

    Senior year

Although senior year has just started, I do have a lot in store. I am now in the highest level modern dance class and in the highest level ballet class. This year we will travel a lot and dance at many different places and take different dance classes at colleges and perform at middle schools. I am still cheering currently and I am excited to see how this year goes!
