    Sacco and Vanzetti robbed a shoe store and maybe murdered a guard in Massachusetts. They were later put on trial and executed for the murder in 1927, more because they were immigrants than that the evidence was there. Sacco and Vanzetti were later executed because they were anarchists.
  • Harding elected President

    Harding elected President
    President Harding staffed his friends in office. The members of his party were not as loyal as he hoped. Fall, one of Harding’s friend took part in the Teapot Dome scandal.

    Henry Ford invented the first car in the 1920s. His assembly line divided work into simple tasks. Henry Ford quoted “ any person can have any car as long as it’s black”.

    In 1924 the first winter Olympic Games were held in France. Charles Jewtraw won the first gold medal for skating.The games are still popular today that people from different countries compete in it.

    In 1926 the St.Louis Cardinals faced off against the New York Yankees. Lou Gehrig joined the team with Babe Ruth. The game was one in Yankee stadium with the spotlight on Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig.

    Babe Ruth breaks the the record for the most homeruns in one season. He was later nicknamed The Great Bambino. His record was later broken today.

    Mickey Mouse was created in the 1920s. Walt Disney first published Steamboat Willie with his own voice. This was so successful that Mickey Mouse is still around today.

    The St. Valentines Day Massacre consisted of Irish gangsters and several “policemen”. The Irish gangsters of the rival 0’Banion mafia unit were shot to death by the well dressed policemen, who were really members of Capone’s gang. To this day we still don’t know if Al Capone ordered the hit.

    When the stock market crashes in 1929 millions of people were laid of work. Thousands of business collapsed and stock prices fell. It took till FDR to fix the Great Depression by setting up the new deal.
