  • Jazz

    During The Jazz Age new styles of music and dance emerged. Largely credited to African Americans employing new musical techniques along with traditional African traditions, jazz soon expanded to America's white middle class.
  • 18th Amendment

    The 18th Amendment prohibited the production, transport, and sale of alcohol. The government believed that the consumption of alcohol was a huge problem and they wanted to fix it. However, people like Al Capone, would create bootleg businesses and open up secret clubs and bars. To be able to get in you would have to know the secret password.

    Warren G. Harding was the 26th President of the United States. He is known for his campaign slogan, "return to normalcy." He made a promise to return to way life was before the war and the Spanish Flu hit.

    The KKK was reborn after they wanted the US to be radically pure. They would choose violence to persuade people's political views.

    President Harding dies in office and Coolidge becomes the President. He instituted the laissez faire, which stated that business would act in a way that would benefit the nation. He would would not help other nations unless it benefited him in some way or if he was in trouble.

    John Scopes challenges the idea of Fundamentalism by teaching the theory of evolution to his students. Fundamentalism is the belief that the bible is true word for word, and it should be taught in every school. A law was passed in Tennessee prohibiting the theory of evolution.

    Henry Ford invented the Model T Ford and it became a success. This led to a huge economic bloom. He hired many workers in his factories and would pay and treat them fairly well. Soon enough, many families had enough money to even buy a washing machine and other appliances they never had before. The Model T made it easier for people to travel.
