    Ku Klux Klan Rebirth

    In 1915, a group of white men in Georgia declare the rebirth of the KKK. Their goal was to preserve the US for white, Anglo-Saxon, native-born Protestants. They first targeted African Americans, Immigrants, Catholics and Jews. Later on they targeted everyone. As for their large membership, they gained political influence. By mid- 1920s people get informed about scandals in the KKK. Clan members had stolen money from leaders and because of that clan membership dropped, and clan separated.

    Windrow Wilson has a stroke
    Windrow Wilson suffered constant headaches during the tour for the league of nations, finally collapsing from exhaustion in Pueblo, Colorado, in late September. He managed to return to Washington, and suffered a near-death stroke on October 2.

    Jazz Age

    The Jazz age lasted from early 1920 to 1929. The Jazz age consisted of jazz music and dance. Jazz music was a combination of West African rhythms, African American work songs, spirituals, European harmonies, and ragtime. Louis Armstrong created jazz music. Jazz was recognized as an original art form developed by African Americans.

    The 18th amendment banned the consumption and transfer of alcohol. It was also referred to prohibition; the amendment reduced drinking but never stopped it. Most American immigrants would drink all day; as a result of it was part of their culture and natural activity’s, although it still breaking the law. In the mid 1920’s, half of all arrests were because of alcohol related incidences. Ratification of the 18th Amendment was completed on January 16th, 1919 and took effect on January 17th, 1920.

    The 19th amendment granted American women the right to vote also referred to as woman suffrage. Before this point women did not have the right to vote.

    The 21st Amendment repealed the 18th Amendment, which banned the transfer and consumption of alcohol. To this day, this is the only amendment to repeal another.
