The Treaty of Versailles
A peace settlement signed after the end of WW1. The purpose of this treaty was to punish Germany for their destruction of Britain, France, Italy and Russia. You could say this set a grudge between the allied countrys and Germany. -
Mussolini takes over Italy.
Origanally a revolutionary socialist but after the Facist moment in 1919 became prime minister in 1922. One thing he did was cahnge Italy's constitution which caused many changes in Italy. After he exausted his armed forces bythe late 1930's causing him to allie with Hitler. -
Beer Hall Putsch, Mein Kampf
Adolf Hitlerand the Nazi Party attempted coup d'atat also known as Beer Hall Putsch. It was an attempt to create a new government based on someones race. It ended up failing but they turned it into a heroic effort. -
Stailin gains power in Russia.
Soviet statesman, General Secrataryof the Communist Party of the USSR from 1922-53. His name means man of steel. Came up with the Five Year Plan, Collectivisation, and The Purges. -
Hitler becomes Chancellor
The reason for him becoming chancellor was so he could crate a more stable government in Germany. He was also not a popular demand for people in Germany. -
Munich Conference
Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Edouard Daladier, and Neville Chamberlain conferenced to sign the Munich Pact. It was a document which sealed the fate of Czechoslovakia. -
Kristallnacht (anti jewish program)
Took place in Germany, annexed Austria, and in Sudetenland where German soldiers recently occupied it. Was the first attempt to annihilate the European Jews. Was also the the turning point of the prosecutions of jews. -
Invasion of Poland
When germany invaded Poland they were defeated within weeks of the invasion.
