  • First Concentration Camps

    The first concentration camps in Germany were established soon after Hitler's appointment as chacnellor
  • Beginning of a Communist Revolution

    the Reichstag building went up in flames. (Nazi's claimed the beginning of a revolution)
  • The Burning of the Books in Nazi Germany

    The burned books they they thought were "un-German", because they didn't want anybody to have any literature of their own. (Cultural, religion, etc..)
  • Eicke becomes Commandant

  • SS gains Independence

    The SS gained its independence from the SA.
  • President Hindenburg dies

    When the president died, Hitler combined the offices of Reich Chancellor and President.
  • Hitler announces the Nuremburg Laws

    These laws stripped Jews of their civil rights as German citizens and seperated them from Germans legally, socially, and politically.
  • SS Guard Units

    "Political Units on Alert" were renamed "SS Guard Units" (SS- Wachverbande)
  • Olympics

    Berlin hosted the Olympics. Hitler viewed this as a perfect oppurtunity to promote a favorable image of Nazism to the world.
  • SS Death's-Head Units

  • Columbia Haus facility holds prisoners

    The Columbia Haus facility held prisoners under investigation by the Gestapo (the German secret state police)
  • Four concentration camps left

    Only four concentration camps were left: Dachau, near munich; Sachsenchausen near Berlin; Buchenwald near Weimar; and Lichtenburg near Merseburg in Saxony for female prisoners.
