Their scientific advances were forefront of the rest of the world. The people of the Ming Dynasty wrote documents that were precious for today's study in ancient technology and their military technology was very advanced. Now that it was gone, China could no longer thrive as a country ("Ming Dynasty")

    Miracle Years

The years 1665-1666 were Isaac Newton's "Miracle Years". This is because he discovered many tings during this time, including the principle of gravity after watching an apple fall from a tree at the university he attended. This principle is still used today in science and physics since it is such an important discovery (Anderson 32)
  • Telescope

    Telescope
Isaac Newton built his own telescope in 1667. He built it after ebcoming fascinated by light, color, and reflections. It allowed him to study the planets and orbits with more detail and helped him prove his ideas to others by having them look in the telescope for themselves. It was such a huge success, even King Charles II was impressed. This major event led Isaac to be invited into the Royal Society which was a place for only the most talented people (Anderson 49).
  • Royal Society

    Royal Society
In 1672, Isaac Newton became a member of the Royal Society of London. Becoming a member is a huge honor since the most talented and gifted scientists and mathmeticians are allowed to join. Even Robert Hooke was part of the Roayl Society. Becoming a member gave Isaac Newton the chance to become widely famous and share his major discoveries with the rest of the world (Anderson 50).

    Pennsylvania
In 1683, the colony of Pennsylvania is established when William Penn signed a treaty with the Delaware Indians and pays for Pennsylvania lands. This was a big step to enlarging America to size it is today. It helped its economy and expanded America, making it a more powerful and stable country (America's Best History).
  • Proof of the Orbits

    Proof of the Orbits
In 1684, Isaac Newton was the first person to successfully prove the orbits of the planets. No one for hundreds of years could figure out how the planets moved around the sun, but finally Newton discovered their paths. Oddly, he didn't bother telling anyone about it, he just moved on to the next thing and burried his mind in his work (Anderson 68)
  • Principia

    Principia
Isaac Newton published his book "Principia" in 1687. It contained the proof how gravity works with the planets, comets, moons and tides and proved his theories correct. It also contained the three laws of motion he discovered which are still used today. If hadn't published this book, we would never known all the great things he discovered and we may not know as much as we do about the world around us (Anderson 73)
  • Votes and Election

    Votes and Election
Isaac Newton was elected in 1689 to represent his university in Parliament. This great honor allowed him to vote for William and Mary to rule England, the Bill of Rights to give more power to the people, and pass the Toleration Act to grant more religious freedom to the English. He played a major role in changing Egland for the better. Though he rarely spoke in conferences, he was a very important part in the new changes brought to England (Anderson 82)

People were so thankful and amazed by his accomplishments in science and math, they built a huge monument in his memory in front of tbe university he attended (Anderson 97).
