    The symbol Y2K stands for an era of time. Y representing year and K often used as a unit of measurement representing kilos or thousands, the symbol Y2K may be interpreted as "the Year 2000"

    During the 2000 election all the states had voted, but when it came down to the final votes the election was so close to a tie that votes were having to be recounted. Fighting over who would win Florida determined who won the presidential election.

    Convicted of the 1995 Oklahoma city bombing, one of the deadliest terrorist acts in american history. Punishment for his cries was by injection. Due to his terrorist acts, the entire north side of the Alfred P. Murrah federal building was destroyed, collapsing all nine floors. In his act, 168 individuals were claimed by the bombing, more than 300 nearby building were destroyed, 17 of the 168 victims were children, and 650 plus people were wounded due to the explosion.

It wasn't until later that it was discovered that the company had in fact been using fraud against its customers, and as the inter price fell to destruction, the company lost to bankruptcy.

By the public announcement of nuclear weapon testing arising from North Korea a communist country, it arose the threat of another world war.

    As the space shuttle Columbia exploded on its reentry to Earth, it killed the seven astronauts that were on board. Due to the tragic incident NASA suspended shuttle flights for more than two years as they investigated the cause of the explosion. An investigation board determined that a large piece of foam, fell from the shuttles external wing, and thus breached the spacecraft wing. Although this issue had been known for a while, actions to solve it had just begun to take place.

As the US, British and other collation forces quickly overwhelmed the Iragi army. Although the fight continued with soldiers and civilians loyal to Saddam Hussein continued three weeks after the take over of the Iraqi army.

It wasn't until the tips from his bodyguard of Hussein's location that American troops were able to locate him near his childhood home Tikrit. Hiding in a one man hole his capture was ruled by military officials "as a possible turning point," and Washington "express[ed] hope that rising violence will abate."

After fighting Alzheimer for the past ten years his wife Nancy stayed by his side. Caused by pneumonia- a complication of having Alzheimer's, the Reagan family accepted all prayers.

    Caused by a massive undersea earthquake just off the coast of Indonesia, a few minutes before 8:00 am, the earthquake was recorded to have a magnitude of a 9.3, the second largest earthquake every recorded and the largest one of the last 40 years. Setting off a deadly Tsunami that in the end killed an estimated 230,000 individuals. Causing an untold devastation on a large amount of coast line that spread from Somali to Sumatra in Southeast Asia.

    In the early morning of August 29th, 2005, hurricane Katrina hit the Golf Coast of the United States. When it made landfall it was a category 3 storm, with winds that reached between 100 and 140 mph. Causing more than $100 billion in damage, the overall hurricane did cause damage but it was the aftermath that had the greatest impact. Massive flooding along with damaged houses made may families homeless.

Stated by president Bush that the only reason why he recieved a fair trial was due to the "Iraqi peoples determination to create a society governed by the rule of law."

Forcing individuals to have health care and for "children" to be covered by their parents until years old.

    After the September 11th terrorist attacks taking the lives of thousands, it became Americas top priority to find, capture and kill Osama Bin Lade for his crimes against American people. Nick named "Operation Geronimo" American teams located and took down the radical Islamic terrorist group leader. In doing this, it ended the 10 year long Man Hunt for Osama Bin Laden, President Obama later that night announced the news to the American public on national television.
