    Nanking SourceWhat has been labled one of the worst acts of World War 2, the Japanese, in December of 1937 and following an almost lost battle against the Chinese, charged Chinas capital and slaughtered over three hundred thousand people, soidlers, and civilians. Surrendering, being an unhonorable concept in Japanese culture, elimintaed all civilians who posed no threat.
  • Molotov Pact

    SourceOn August 23rd, 1939, The Germans and Soviets signed a pact of non agression. The treaty stated that no military action would be takena against eachother for 10 years, this shocked the world, and in coming years Hitler would betray the Soviets
  • Germany Invades Poland

    Germany Invades Poland
    SourceOn September 1st, 1930, Hitler made the decision to invade Poland, which would heavily contribute to the start of world war 2. He would use somthing called the "blitzkrieg" strategy in which forces would launch airstrikes to weaken the enemy before a mass land invasion. Hitler would use this new Poland Power to start eliminating all enemys of nazi ideology, but
    was ultimatley under equipped.

    Paris knew of the oncoming invasion and asked the U.s and British for help. When refused, many citizens of Paris fled before the German troops came in and seized the capital.
  • Pearl Harbor

    SourceOn the seventh of December, 1941, hundreds of Japanese planes flew over the Hawai naval base, Pearl Harbor, bombing ships and killing thousands. Following this attack, President FDR declared war on Japan. They did this becuase of FDR imposing a ban on some trades, which were heavily effecting Japan, and so that they made invade neighboring countries.
  • Bataan Death March

    April 9th marks the date of when the Bataan Penicila, located on a Philippine surrendered to the Japanese. 75 thousand prisoners of war were put in work camps after marching through intense conditions.
  • Concentration Camps Lberated

    Concentration Camps Lberated
    As the war for Geramany declined, the Allies moved across Europe. Soviets got to the camps first, and liberated Aushiwitz in January of 1944. Though only a number of prisoners were alive when liberation occured. After this, the horros of the war and Germany were revelaed to the world.
  • D-Day

    SourceJune 6th, over a hundred thousand of the Allied troops landed on Normady beach. Where they would rush Nazi troops to begin a take back on the rest of Europe. Thousands of allies died durring the attack, but it was an overall victory.
  • Battle of the Bulge

    Bulge SourceOn the 16th of December, Adolf Hitler began an attack in an attempt to split the allied forces. He overwhelmed U.s troops, and began sending english speaking German soilders over enemy lines to secretly take more crossroads. Though British and Us troops held the front and eventually forced Hitler to retreat.

    SourceOn August 6th, the worlds first Atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima in an attempt to bring a quick end to the war. The result was devistating and wiped out 90% of the city in an instant and killed over 80 thousand people. After that, another plutonium bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, killing even more. Following the Bombing Japans emporer, anounced and unconditional surrender.
