  • Rise of Fascism

    !930 is the rise of fascism in Germany, Italy and Japsn. By 1930 mass unemployment and economic depression led to poverty in Britain, Japan, Italy, Germany and the U.S. People were unsatisfied and it led to a fascist movement. Fascism had a large sense of nationaism. In germany the fascist movement led to the election oh Adolf Hitler. Hitler broke the treaty of Versailles by raising an army
  • Genocide and the Holocaust

    in the holocaust Hitler made so that his people loved their country above all else. Hitler used nationalism to establish a dictatorship. He labeled many minorities as enemy of the state. Hitler arrested and murdered the minorities and people who disagreed with the nazis. Hitler used propaganda to control people
  • Discontent over War

    Many citizens in the U.S. were isolationists. Before Pearl Harbor many people didn't want the U.S. to join the war after knowing the devastating effects of WWI. The other some of the U.S. were internationalists who thought that the U.S. should join because the security of the U.S. depended on it
  • Pearl Harbor and America's response

    Japan, Germany and Italy created the Axis Powers. France and Britain only declared war on Germany when they invaded Poland. Soon France was conquered. On sunday december 7 1941 Japan bombed pearl harbor and killed over 2,000 soldiers. The following day the U.S. Declared war on Japan and in turn Italy and Germany declared war on the U.S. drawing the U.S. into WWII
  • The Home Front

    With the production of weapons the U.S. was brought out of the Great depression because factories needed workers and that created Jobs. The Government changed many factories to benefit the war.
  • D-Day and the War in the Pacific

    Once the Allies decided to reclaim france they pledged 3 million Troops to the mission and Britain and Canada also pledged troops. Before the raid the U.S. focused on isolating the area of attack by destroying rail lines and supplies. They still met much resistance from the Germans. By august the soldiers had liberated France by taking back Paris.

    At the Yalta conference the Big three Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin reached an understanding on many issues. such issues as Russia deciding to help the Allies keep peace and restore order to europe after WWII
  • Plans for peace and the Atom Bomb

    The allies were fairly certain that they would now win the war. They had now liberated several countries
  • Retaking Europe

    As the allies invaded germany they saw the horrific sights of Concentration camps. As the allies liberated camps Hitler killed himself in a bunker on april 30 1945.
  • Surrender

    After Hitlers death the german forces soon surrendered to the allies. V-E-Day was what the surrenders date was called Victory in Europe. Before the german surrender Roosevelt died suddenly on April 12
