Hitler Becomes Chanceller of Germany
The Nazis were having problems with things in Germany so Hitler stepped in and wanted to become chancellor of Germany. When the United States found out about this it was not a good thing. Even people in Germany did not like that Hitler was going to be chancellor of the Nazis. People new they were going to regret this. -
Kristallnacht
This was the time when Nazis in Germany torched synagogues, vandalized Jewish homes, schools and businesses and killed close to 100 Jews. This was not a good time for Jews because they can get killed and hurt. People new that this was not a good sight and Hitler looked like he was going crazy. -
Germany invades Poland
The German invasion of Poland was a primer on how Hitler intended to wage the war-what would become the blitzkrieg strategy. This was the plan to destroy railroads, work places and other parts of there city. With one bomb they were going to bomb the city of Poland and lots of people died during this. They did not know what was coming. -
France surrenders to germany
When France and Germany were at war France was losing and they gave up Germany was wining almost every war with Hitler chancellor of the Nazis it was like they were unstoppable. Lots of people died and those were one of the reasons that France surrendered to Germany. People were thinking what going to happen now. -
FDR proposes lend- leaes programs
This act was the principal for providing U.S military aid to foreign nations during WW2. It authorized the president to transfer arms or any other defense materials for which congress appropriated money to the government. This helped lots of people and made lots of money. This program was really good for people. -
Auschwitz
This was known as a death camp. At this time people hid and traveled to places just to get away from Hitler and the Nazis. Jewish people were sent to these camps. A lot of people died from these camps they barely had any thing to eat. They had to do hard labor and work all day. People hoped and hoped that this was going to end. -
Attack on pearl harbor
The attack on pearl harbor was not good. Military soldiers got attacked without any warning and before they new it the attack became a battle .Ships and bombs started going off. People saw that the attack was from japan. Japan thought that the United States was going to attack them so the attacked us first. This was known as the attack on pearl harbor. -
Bombing of hiroshima
The battle of Hiroshima was not a battle. It got bombed by aircraft. This was the first time they used the atomic bomb against a city. This bombing wiped out 90% of the city. More then 80000 people were killed during this attack. Then another bombing happened on Nagasaki and Japanese were going to get back at them. -
D-Day
D-day resulted in the allied liberation of western Europe from Nazis Germanys control. The battle began on June 6 1944 also known as D-Day when some 156000 American British and Canadian forces landed on five beaches along a 50 mile stretch. At that point the war began. This invasion was going to far for people. There were more then 1000 killed. people did not like this.
