    On the 1st September 1939, Nazi Germany invaded Poland. German soldiers dressed up as Polish soldiers staged an attack on the German radio tower in Gleiwitz. Hitler decided that this would justify the invasion of Poland the next day. Germany requested that Poland surrender the Polish corridor to the Germans.
