    Accession of Wilhelm II to the German throne
    In 1988 Wilhelm II ascended to the throne in Germany and since then ,German government became more brutal and aggressive.Wilhelm II made Germans policy even worse than before ,he also ‘‘refused to renew the Reinsurance Treaty with Russia’’.The Reinsurance treaty kept peace between Russia and Austria-Hungary.Wilhelm II helped the formation of Allies between Russia and France (formed in 1892).This formation led to creation of the future Triple Entente .

    The Tangier crisis and Agadir crisis in Morocco caused European powers to get involved in war.The Moroccan crisis conducted by Germans to prevent the unity of Britain and France.The result however turned out different from what Germans planned and instead of enclosing Great Britain to the Central powers,the aggresion of Britain towards Germany had been brought up .

    Germany had a thirst on having a dominant army in the air ,on the earth and in water.They not only had a powerful air army but also had a marvelous naval army,which terrified Britain and Russia and France .Although Russia and France were already in Alliances Britain joined them on 1907 and these 3 formed triple Entente.

    The first battle of Ypres took place in Western Flanders around Ypres in Belgium.It occurred from October 1914 until middle of November 1914,within this one month of battling ,Germany fought versus British Expeditionary Force(BEF),Belgium and France.

    Assassination Of Archduke Franz Ferdinand
    The ascension of a group of rebellious from the revolutionary motion of Mlada Bosna led to an assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand the heir presumptive of Austria -Hungary emperor on June 28 ,1914 ,while he and his wife were visiting Sarajevo.The murdering of him was not the main reason but it was amongst one of the most significant events that led to outbreak of WWI.

    July Ultimatum
    After the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, Austria-Hungary gave the last alert to Serbia on July,23rd.Meanwhile, Vienna put Serbia under pressure to declare war against its neighbour.After a few days, Austria-Hungary invaded Serbia and it was the start of WWI.

    The Battle of Tannenberg

    he battle of Tannenberg is considered as one of the most important victories of German empire over Russia ,and one of the worst ones ,of course,for Russia .This battle happened from August 26th until August 30th 1914(The first month of WWI) .Russian second army was completely annihilated ,also General Alexander Samsonov committed suicide as a result of this contemptuous defeat.

    Battle of Marne

    At the beginning of the WWI, Germany planned to knock out France to avoid fighting in two sides. Germany had to fight with both Russia and France ,those were allies with each other. The French army had the British army by its side, and even though Germans had some early successes but it did not last long. French and British defeated Germany at the Marne on 6-10 of September,1914.

    After lots of humiliating defeats for Russian army throughout WWI in the first year , Brusilov offensive is considered among one of the most successful victories for Russian army in WWI.Commander Brusilov led Russian army in that offensive attack and he used a lot of tactics which worked really well , although they were not designed in the Western front.

    Battle of Vimy Ridge which took place in Nord-Pas -de-Calais in France was a battle between Canadian army and German empire.The goal of Canadians in this war was to beat up Germany in Vimy ridge area,this would protect Britain’s army from German attacks in Battle of Arras.The result of war was a great tactical victory of Canada over the 6th army of Germany,although both sides gave a massive amount of casualties in just 3 days.

    The battle of Passchendaele which is known as the third battle of Ypres , took place in the strategic region of Ypres in western flanders between German Empire and allies in 1917.The battle was began by Britain to defeat Germany in Ypres and capture southern ridges,Canada also entered the war in October 1917 and helped Britain to take over Ypres but this help costs Canada with 15,000 casualties.This battle was one of the most important wins for Allies in the great war.
