    The Holocaust VideoThe Holocaust was the genocide of 6 million Jews during WWll. It was led by Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party.     Adolf Hitler uses gas chambers to kill many Jewish people. Approximentaly, 11-17 million total victims during the Holocaust. There were multiple concentration camps going on through 1933-1945. The German soilders would lie to the jews telling them their getting a shower but instead they were led into a gas chamber locked in and filled will Carbon Monoxide
  • Britain evacuation

    Britain begins evacuation plans in fear of Germany air attacks. The outbreak of war led to large-scale evacuation of women and children from London and other large cities. Other emergency measures were also declared.For months there were no air raids during the period now known as the "phoney war" and many evacuees returned home.

    The start of World War ll-There were 61 countries at war, and 1.7 billion people involved. World War ll was a state of total war. 1.8 million German troops, 2000 aircrafts, and 2600 tanks invaded Poland- marking the first war of World War ll. Due to Germany’s huge attack on Poland, it was clear that the invasion was thought out and had been in the planning stages for months. Five weeks after the invasion, Poland was completely taken over and would remain occupied for another 5 and 1/2 years.

  • War on Germany

    On September 3, 1939, the Prime Minister of Britain, Neville Chamberlain, declares war on Germany. Neville Chamberlain stated, "I have to tell you now that no such undertaking has been received and consequently this country is at war with Germany." Therefore, in response of the German invasion of Poland tree days earlier, they are officialy in a state of war.

    Winston Churchill- Prime Minister in Great Britain during most of World War ll and led Great Britain to victory, During the Battle of Britain, Churchill's speeches boosted the british moral during the darkest of times. Churchill was appointed First Lord of the Admiralty and a member of the War Cabinet also. Churchill had been among the first to recognise the growing threat of Hitler, way before the outset of the Second World War, and his warnings had been ignored.

    The Battle of Britain was the first major campaign fought entirely by airforces. The battle also marked the first defeat of Hitler's military forces.This was a crucial turning point in the war. Showing that the RAF or Royal Air Force could hold up against Hitler`s Luftwaffe.This was a major defeat for the german army, and a turning point in the war.

    Pearl Harbor VideoMorning of December 27, 1941 the Japanese Navy bombed U.S. Navy Milita. It killed 2,403 United States citizens, and only 55 Japanese people died. Japanese wounded are unknown, except 1,282 U.S. Citizens were wounded. This was a suprise attack to all citizens.     D-Day VideoIs the name given for the day when 160,000 alllied troops in Normady, France on June 6, 1944. This invasion was just the beginning of the end of the Germans. This invasion was also known as " Operation Overlord", which involved Americans, Britians, and Canadian Troops.   • Germany Surrenders

    Germany surrenders to Western Allies. On April 25, 1945 the last of the Germans were expelled by the Finnish. Benito Mussolini the prime minister for Germany later was later captured by italian partisans while he was trying to run away to Switzerland and Adolf hitler later realized that all was lost and so he commited suicide in his bunker.
  • Japan Surrenders

    After the two atomic bombs hit Japan their surrender was imminent.The surrender was announced over the radio across all Japan.This surrender would bring the end of the second world war, and Japan was in desperate need of help because of the atomic bombings.They had already signed treaties with Soviet Russia looking for salvation.

    The Power Nation of Germany was finally defeated, and surrendered. Approximentaly, 62-78 million people died during this war. It changed many things socially, economically, and politically. Socially, it showed that women could be in the work world- that they could do jobs that men could do as well. Economically, many of the nations were left in smoking ruins, and it would take approx. 10 years for the countries to manufacture again. Politically, it helped see the U.S. as a superpower.
